Default Liquid JC's Practicality
I have a real big yen for a Liquid & Suede Marla bag. I was reading the other thread about the Liquid bags cracking. My question was more about practicality of use. For those of you who own them, can you tell me what you perceive them to be.? An Everyday bag? A Special occasion bag? Too sensative and need to be babied? I am wondering if my Dream bag may just be more of something to stare at. I like to use my bags and I basically wanted to know if these would be a good everyday bag.

Now to hear about cold weather and cracking....it seems to confirm that the bag may be impractical.

I have a liquid patent/suede Utah wallet that I use everyday & I haven't had a problem with cracking. The wallet does have some creases from normal use - but it's not out of the ordinary and similar to what I'd see on a leather piece. I also had a LP Mahala bag & that was problem free as well, as far as wear/tear went. (I did end up parting with the bag because it was too heavy for me, though). HTH!

I have four LP Maddys; plum, cognac, bone, and purple.

My purple is really new; only a week old so I cannot comment too much on its durability.

As for the others, I've had them for months and carry the plum and cognac quite a bit. I use them as everyday bags; work, shopping, out with friends...whatever. I don't treat them any more "special" than I do my other bags and have had zero problems from them.

With all this being said I do not live somewhere cold; it rarely drops below 40 (Fahrenheit) as a low here.

Hope this helps a little!

Do you find them "Blingy"? I am talking about the Midnight blue specifically. I just hope I can get everyday use out of without looking like I have a Neon Sign Handbag.

And the top snaps....are they easy to open and close? The bag is seriously beautiful. There also is a gorgeous Smoke one one ebay.

I've got the Bone Mahala, Lexie, and use it as an everyday bag. I don't think the Midnight Blue would be too blingy at all...kind of how it is surprising the way the electric blue Mahala goes with everything?

I've had no problems at all with my LP, but will avoid taking it out in super cold weather since I read that post about the cracking. It is just gorgeous, really!

I saw the midnight at the boutique, and the color is spectacular. It's quite deep & rich and I wouldn't consider it blingy at all. It's shiny b/c it's liquid patent, but not in a bad way (at least imo).

As for the snaps, although I haven't carried the Marla, I have opened it and closed it several times. I think it's easy enough. The snaps are magnetic (magnetized?) so they sort of self close as soon as you fold the top over. Personally, I think it's easier to open the bag if you have it expanded with the center zipper open. If you unsnap it with the zip fully closed, the two end snaps don't really open fully, so it's just the middle snaps and the bag opens in a kind of circle, whereas with the center zip open, the bag opens wide - all the way across. I'm not sure if I'm explaining this properly, but I hope you know what I mean!

Lexie - I have 3 liquid patent Choos. The key is to take care of them properly.
1. Do not spray anything on them
2. Wipe with lint free cloth to remove fingerprints
3. Make sure they are stuffed well when stored to avoid creases
4. Do not let them stay in below freezing weather to avoid cracking

This would not deter me from buying a LP bag. There are far more high maintenance bags than LP.

Here is my November baby - Midnight Marla/M:
