Default Dyeing a JC bag?
Hi, I hope this is the right section...

I want to dye my white JC ring. It is drummed leather, and it has turned into a sort of yellow colour. My plan is to dye it dark blue/navy. I do not have any experience in dyeing bags, so I hope my cobbler can do it for me. He is very talented.

I hope someone can give me some advice, I could not find any threads about dyeing. So have anyone done it? any advice or suggestions? All comments and info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

There are alot of threads that contain the word TARRAGO DYE. I have read about some success stories with others that have re-dyed their bags. I'm thinking about the same thing on one of my JC bags. I'm Getting close to commiting to it.

Tarrago is awesome and very easy to use. I am rehabbing a chloe bag right now using it. The drummed leather is textured though, so I am not sure how that would turn out. Probably best to seek a professional on that. The dyed ones on ebay look just awful.

Yes, I am a bit worried about the texture. I have seen some of the dyed ones on ebay too, some are awful. The cobbler is a perfectionist when it comes to leather, so I hope he can dye.. I think I will give it a try!

If you are going to try it I would stick to the same light color family. I have heard of problems with peeling. I did a Chanel bag I have, but I stayed with white. It is a vintage bag and had a slight greyish tinge. It turned out well, but I have not used it much so if it does peel, it will not be very noticeable.
