I was a little perplexed when I ordered my first Ignes and was asked what name I wanted engraved on it. I was completely unsure where it was going to go, how big it woudl be or what it would look like (envisioning some horrid nameplate effect). I stuck to my initials only, which on a Gabrielle are on the inside lip of the top. Now I like it!
So -- what do you have engraved? Nothing? First name? Last name? Nickname? Initials? Where do they end up on other styles? Do you ever point it out to people or is it your little secret? |

I haven't gotten my first personalized Ignes yet, but I asked them to engrave my last name on it.

The Luka dh ordered me for my birthday says, "Mike loves Sue."
My Ormala, tribute to my Mom, says, "Trudy and 2008 in Roman numerals." My Virginia (purchased with a money the IRS forced me to take out from my IRA) says 2009 in Roman numerals. None of my other Ignes say anything. But the bag ordered for my friend says, "Awesome Mommy and friend." |

i was kind of wondering w/ all the "relocating" going around- what happens w/ the personalization? Do you just ignore it?

I've got my initials on my Gabrielle, and I'm planning the same for at least one of the bags I've been plotting on the side! (An Ormala, BTW. I figure I'll request to have the initials at around the same spot, on the inside lip of the back wall of the bag.)
redrobin, there's been at least one Gabrielle with personalisation that has been "relocated" once or twice, and I believe both times the initials have just been largely ignored (though mentioned in the listings, of course). For simpler engravings, at least, it's usually not all that noticeable, especially if it's on the inside edge of the bag. |

I have not done any personalization w/ the name or initials. I guess it just hasn't struck me to do so.

I didn't personalize my bag. I was afraid I wouldn't like it and it'd be marked making it harder to find a new mommy. Turns out I worried for nothing but I'm not sure I'd mark the next one either!

Yanno, the only reason that's stopping me from marking my bags is that I dislike block lettering LOL

I have to say that I really like the roman numeral year in my bags. I think I'll do that again...gives a little history to the piece.

^ I agree! I'm not sure if I'd find a reason to put Roman numerals on one of my bags, aside from marking the year it was made/ordered, but it definitely sounds pretty cool!

That's what I've done. One bag is 2008 and one is 2009.
