My beautiful, bright, eye-catching, head-turning turquoise nappa Emilia is here! She looks like summer!
I managed to dash out and take some real-light outdoor shots of her (with encouragement from Ms. Liz and Euridice). The weather is hazy sunshine (and humid as all get out, thunderstorms building). The turq leather is a little bit stiff but I presume that won't last long. The shiny silver studs and zipper pull are perfection. I did not know the handles were stitched next-to-each-other together with little pieces of leather in four spots. I am considering taking those off and letting the handles lap over naturally, but will try her as is first. She is shown here with her standard strap drop and hardware. I forgot to do the interior while outside but it is the yellow suede (see other thread with preview pictures). In reality, the yellow is a distinct goldenrod hue, not buttercup yellow. She is shown stuffed with paper only. I used the ivy ground cover outside as a reference for color. I would say the turq color is pretty close to the production photos, but even nicer in person. The leather has a little more sheen than I would have expected but I'm OK with that! My jeans are medium dark but look a tad lighter outside. All pictures were in partial shade so the differences between the color in the photos is the amount of sun and how close the camera was. Maria thought the turq is a perfect color for an Emilia, and so do I!! Aieeeeeee!

WOWWWWEEEEEE!! That is gorgeous!!! Great pics, thanks!! It sounds and looks wonderful, Pink!!
I noticed the leather looked kinda shiny in my production pics. It looked almost crinkled patent-y or something. So the upclose shots look bluer and the others looked greener....which is closest to the real color, would you say?? It's just beautiful, thanks for sharing. |

Euridice, I think she leans toward the greener, though if you took a quick look at her you would think 'no way is she green.' It is distinctly the green hint that comes from a true turquoise color.
There is a definite sheen to the leather though it is nowhere near crinkled patent, nor would it be mistaken for a non-leather. The sheen seems to make the leather texture more visible. I am amazed that they can get that leather to braid into those straps and not be painfully stiff. |

You know, I think I should have said "bluer" or the "less blue" pics....it doesn't really show green but the closeups are definitely more blue.
I'm so excited for you!!! Thanks for the info!!! I can't wait!! I am psyched!! |

OMG Pink......That is STUNNING!!! She looks so good on you. What a beautiful bag!
What leather would you compare the sheen-like finish to? Any other that you can think of? I LOVE that color and it looks gorgeous in an Emilia!! CONGRATS on a real BEAUTY! |

The Emilia has two magnetic snaps -- I think one in the middle would leave her top gap open. She's a larger sized bag.

Ms. Liz, I compared the sheen with my blueberry crunch leather Tano. It is about the same (or maybe a bit less) than the barely-broken-in parts of that. The sheen on the Ignes also seems directional with the leather. The side pieces (under the braiding) seemed to have less sheen but then I turned the bag and the sheen looked different -- does that make sense? Because the Emilia's front and back are each one large piece of leather, the directional sheen is of no consequence when viewed full on.
This is only under really close inpsection, of course. YMMV. |
