...but couldn't.
Once I picked the bag, leather(s), lining and HW, the only customization options available were engraving, strap length, messenger strap, drawstrings, zipper and studs, with half of them not available for my bag. So I figured that once I picked among these and went to the next screen, there would be a place for me to add other options and special instructions, but nothing. I had to either pay for it as it was or leave it. How do you ladies get reinforced bags, chain traps, studs on a bag that normally doesn't come with studs, etc.? I gave up and decided to order a cosmetic bag, but there I had even fewer options: five leathers, three linings--none of wish were the ones I wanted. But the worst part was that after I chose colors other than the ones I really wanted and I clicked on "buy this product," I was taken to a page showing my "order" and giving me the option to pay with PP, but the order was literally nothing (blank), and the amount owed was $0, so I couldn't order it! I'm disappointed kuz I just found out about the 35% off sale, which was the only way I was going to be able to buy one of these bags, and today was the last day. Bummer... |

Karmen, I was confused too with the website, but email Maria about it! She's the one to talk to and everything. I didn't have to go through the website to order. I ordered and paid through email with Maria.
About the 35% discount, I believe if you email Maria now, she will give you the discount. Plus, according to the twitter announcement, the 35% discount is extended to early next week. Another point about the pouch, you can make it with whatever lining and whatever leather you choose. The website is just kinda silly and doesn't give you the option. Just chat/email Maria! That's the way to go ![]() I ordered my first Ignes last week as well!! |

karmen, I tend to order through email only, as it's much easier to specify details when you're emailing Maria what you want. I tend to think the customisation options on the site are really meant for those who make only a few changes and will otherwise be fine with what Ignes makes. For us tPFers with the specificity of our requests, though, emailing Maria directly is definitely the way to go!
She's wonderful to deal with, and I'm sure she'll continue to honour the 35% discount too... Good luck!

Yep, definitely talk to Maria
According to her Twitter account: "Plus due to OUR delayed response to many submissions, we have to extend the party until early next week!"

Yeah, email Maria or chat with her via their website Monday. It is way more fun to create your bag with Maria!

Don't give up! That site is sort of the pits when you get to purchasing. Catch Maria on livechat or toss her an e-mail, she is RIDICULOUSLY helpful and kind!

Karmen....don't fret just email Maria. She is phenomenal, and trust me she will honor the sale price. She will bend over backwards for you. Honestly she is a breath of fresh air in today's retail world.
(P.S. I owe you a PM which I had composed a long one, then got booted off PF...LOL. You'll see why I have been sparse lately when I resend it. Sorry Karmen,)

Thanks for the info, gals. I got a weird email from Ignes about a bag that I ordered, except there was no bag...???...so I replied to the email explaining what happened, and I now see that I have a reply from Maria there. Haven't read it yet, though.
I've been going back and forth between which bag to get, and last night I was in a f-it mode when I decided to order this one and change it that way, but wasn't able to on the website. I like the Mini Gaby kuz that's just a style of bag I like, but I don't like the lack of HW on it, nor do I like how it looks with studs up and down the two leather stripes. Then I was looking at the Mini Chiara, for the same reason, but was unsure about the studs. Then I saw dizzy MizLizzy's Camel Mini O and thought it looked super classy, so I decided to take a look at that one even though I was initially turned off by the square/sharp-edged HW on it, which to me make the bag look kinda retro, and that's a bit outside my comfort zone of rounded corners. Then I thought that if I could reduce the strap length and reinforce the leather to make it a true satchel that wouldn't slouch, the Mini O could be the one, but I'm not sure if such reinforcement is possible with the leathers Ignes uses. I don't want another slouchy bag kuz I already have a couple yummy puddles and would like a stiff one for a change. Gosh...is it me, or does that sound kinda erotic...

Tell them you want it reinforced. They will do it! Tell her no puddles or slouch!

Yup, they can definitely do a Mini O that doesn't puddle or slouch! IIRC, tejava had a Mini O made in Tinted Wine, one of the puddliest, smooshiest leathers they have, and she had them reinforce it so that it was nice and structured, no slouching at all. They can definitely reinforce whatever leather you choose so that it's nice and stiff!

Just chiming it that reinforcement can def be added. Just tell Maria that you want it very stiff (lol .. sorry... I agree that sounds dirty)
My Ormala is reinforced Royal Purple, which on it's own is soft and distressed. Here is a pic of an unreinfored Mini O w a reinforced O

^ Thanks, sillykitty! It was your Ormala--precisely this awesome one--that gave me the idea to reinforce a bag. This photo confirmed to me that for that particular style--Ormala--I would prefer a non-slouchy bag. Thanks for posting sooo many pictures of your bags. I've had a blast going through them all!~
