Default slightly annoyed, but sister loves her presents
So after seeing all of the HH ladies on here raving about these bags, I decided to order 3 during one of the recent sales never having seen an IGNES bag before. 2 were presents for my sister and one for myself. Due to hardware issues, my bag has not even been made, but my sis received hers today. And they are really gorgeous. BUT... the sent a mini gabby instead of the full sized gabby and we measured several times to make sure. 14" piping to piping The worst part is when they sent the production pics, the photos were labeled mini gabby, but Maria assured me the bag was the correct dimensions... They also stitched her Luca clutch with contrast stitching despite my many emails insisting on no contrast stitching. Dang it. I am sort of furious, but mostly not. However, I can say 2 out of 3 w/ defects will make me think more than twice about ordering again. On the other hand, the bags really are pretty... gabby is in cognac w/ gold hardware. luca is in dark gold w/ streaks. both had suede interiors... merry christmas and happy b-day to my sister:)

They are very pretty bags, but what is with the errors?! I am so sorry that happened. It is no excuse at all, but things go nuts with them during sales. I would think they would double check things. Is your sister happy with the mini size? With the contrast stitching, I really can't see it, if that helps at all. I'm glad your sister is happy, but the errors are not acceptable. I hope that they have done something to accommodate you.

They are beautiful, slegg. I'm sorry you have issues. I would email Maria again.

They are great bags, sorry to hear about the gabby being a mini (I hope you have emailed her and let us know what Maria says). I also don't think that the stitching on the Luka is contrasting, unless you specified that you wanted dark brown stitching, then that's a problem (because I could see them thinking of the stitching in one of two ways... matching the gold or matching the dark brown). It looks quite nice!

As long as your sister loves them, right? You did a great job with your selections!

Hopefully everyone's purses will come soon!

i emailed maria last night and she was very responsive (another reason why I am only slightly annoyed. She is very very nice). I was pretty specific about the stitching, but my sister likes it and that is all that counts. On the measurements, Maria sent me pictures to make sure we are measuring the same way as they are. Acc to the pics, they also measure piping to piping so I am not sure how one could mis-measure 2.4 inches, but I will wait for my sister to confirm in the event she measured in a different place or something. Maria did say they use the same pattern every time for each style so that shouldnt have caused any issue and she double checked when she received the mis-labeled production pics to make sure they would make a full-sized. I hope it is something like that the top of the bag is narower than the bottom and we just measured differently, though the Gabby looks pretty boxy on the internet.

Wow! I agree with Duranie about the Luca. So sorry to hear about the problems. They cannot afford to be making this many mistakes. I too am waiting on my bags due to the hardware issues.

Default discrepancy is in how they measure
I recv'd my sister's pics today and she measured exactly in the same place as Ignes: on the top about 1 inch from the mouth and at the bottom about 1/3 the way up the bag. The top is about 13 inches from piping to piping. Her bottom measurement is exactly 15 from piping to piping (although it does look like if you measured along the bottom edge you may be able to get another inch, but that isnt where Ignes measured)... the Ignes picture shows 16 inches from piping to piping, but they are starting their measurement by placing the tape at the 1 inch mark (not the end tab) on the piping!!! They don't do it that way on the top of the bag-- they start the tape where everyone else would start it-- at the beginning. A little weird to me, but again, i think the bottom is even wider so that must be where they got their on-line measurement from. I am no purse expert, but measuring the bottom width of a bag to get the overall measurement seems odd given the mouth is so much narrower. Anyway, this at least explains what happened I guess!
