hi, you know me, I am the new converted ostrich lover. It seems that soon all the ostrich will be finished by all the US girls making lots of purchases, so I think I must profit before this
.I had a chiara in new purple in command, but I have receibed the sample and is too dark fo me, so I have told Ignacio not to make it. new purple ![]() When I have seen the purple ostrich, it was exactly the colour I like, so I have decided this will be my next bag. purple ostrich ![]() I usually have bags the size of a miniormala, or a minisofia for my daily use. I need a bag a little big to go traveling ( not a weekender, just to jump on the plane, and use also in roma streets). This is why I thought in the chiara. Now am having a hard time trying to decide. option 1: ormala: would be the bottom in new purple to make it more resistant and the rest in ostrich purple. -pros: this will be big enough, I LOVE the design. -cons: must have reinforced leather, so migth be quite heavy ( it can be solved maybe sacrifing the suede interior for cloth) . It does not have zipper closure ( I know I can request it, but if I do a zipper, the shape changes, as I like to have the sides plied inside the bag, to have the square shape, and with zipper i cant do this and I dont like it very much) option 2: the new gabrielle. I have stolen the idea from bag4. I asked to know if she would mind to use it for my bag, and she hasnt answered, so I think it will be ok, but I want to thank her. Is a great idea. ![]() ![]() is the gaby with 4 studs in each strap. This will be made, all the bag in ostrich, just the straps with the studs, the bottom and the two lateral pockets will be in the new purple, to give structure to the bag, as the ostrich is not thick. I think, if I only use ostrich in the main part of the bag it migth not need to be reinforced, making the bag ligther and slouchier. |

gaby bag:
- pros: ligther, can have suede interior. zipper closure. -cons: I have not seen IRL how the bag may work. Smaller than the ormala ( although not too small). this the colour combination: ![]() I have also thougth about the chiara, but I cant make a two part bag, so If I do it, it must be all in ostrich, and I think it wont retain anything of its shape, and if I want to do so, I must have it reinforced, so it will be heavier. another question, I think I am prone to have it ( wherever bag migth be at the end)with gold harware, but I will love to have your opinions about that also. thanks girls, I do appreciate your comments! |

I have seen that purple ostrich sample and I LOVE that shade, it is so gorgeous!!! I like your idea of mixing in some of the new purple to give it some structure and I think it would look beautiful with the purple ostrich. Not sure about the studs on the straps since they will be in an accent color, I am going back and forth on that with my tinted wine/tinted brown idea as well, not wanting it all to look too busy. The ostrich has so much texture I'm not sure you'd need to add anything else, unless you just wanted to enjoy some extra bling.
![]() edited to add - the gold hardware would be gorgeous, totally luxe! Linda |

MMmmm purple LOL! IS the new purple really THAT dark? Compared to the one in my avatar?? <---- <----
Is it almost a black in some lighting? Cause then it would look fantastic with the studs..... as for the studs, they weren't my idea LOL, I stole it and just quickly photoshopped them because I have a hard time imagining things, so I needed a more real life pic, so you can steal my stolen idea LOL! I LOVE the purple ostrich!! But then, I love purple. And I vote for the Gaby, but I am very biased, I have been looking for a great handheld and have changed MY mind from the ormala to the Gaby for my first Ignes. |

I vote for choice 2- love the color selections too, w/ gold hardware. I think that one is the winner! The ormala idea is good too, but I think the Gaby would look great!

yes, the new purple is very dark, and might look like black. is beautiful, but was looking for something not so dark. I love the idea of gold studs, because they will look great with this dark.
The original idea was a chiara in new purple with the dawstrings in bronze. I think it will look spectacular, but I prefer the purple ostrich now. I think the 2nd one ( the gaby) is winning rigth now... is growing on me. |

Purple ostrich is to die for! Absolutely beautiful.
My only concern is whether or not the Gabrielle can be made in ostrich without reinforcements. Since the Ormala is a more structured shape, it lends itself to reinforcement easily. I guess I would have to see what Ignacio says, but if he can do it it will be a fabulous bag! I love your ideas.

I am trying not to make the ostrich reinforced, go give more a slouchy feeling at the gaby. so the shape will be manteined by the bottom, side pockets and lateral stripes, that will be made of new purple leather, and the rest ( the slouchy part) will be made of ostrich. bvut I must ask ignacio if it is possible, first

a purple ostrich gabby would be TDF! the two side panels could be in the new purple leather with gunmetal studs (when this is available, i don't know). the gabby maybe better suited to such a thin leather since it is unstructured.
I have a sheepskin (i.e. lambskin) partially unstructured satchel and the leather is holding up well. I love the super softness of it as well. |

I think the gaby is a winner...poor ormala
![]() do you think in this combination, the hardware should be best golden or it will be better to wait for gunmetal? I like the warm tones of the golden, but gunmetal... ( the worst is that i will have to wait longer...) |
