People are so rude Duranie, I can't believe the nerve... on the other hand, yay for spousal support on rebuying once you have a BETTER job (cuz you know you will!) *hugs*!

Hang in there Duranie!

Irainei, I finally tried that bakery you recommended this morning, and WOW! It was amazing! I think I have you to thank? blame? for this newfound strawberry-cream croissant addiction. Thanks so much for sharing this gem with me!

LOL you're welcome! Those croissants are dangerous...just like the choco-horns...or the cinnamon buns...or the cream cheese stuff...or or... Did you see if they were gonna be open tomorrow by chance? LOL

Update to my week- Sad Monday, Happy Tuesday, Totally Down and Out Wednesday (DH took pity on me and took me out for dinner and a little present), Lookin' Better Thursday (lol) and of course, there's Friend Friday, BBQ and Explosions Saturday, Restful Sunday followed by Last-Ditch Effort Monday.

Ha they will be open tomorrow! Closed July 4-6th though. DH wants to go back tomorrow morning... I fear for my waistline...

What a roller coaster of a week you have had - sounds like your DH came through for you though!

Duranie, that is just the rudest. I mean, really. Why be a bitch about it, what a loser. That is so sweet what your DH said to you. I can't wait to see your Mini Emilia.

Ooh, yum, GP and Rainey! I am glad this place is on the other side of the country for me. I've given up "gratuitous sweets." Was eating way too many sweets and snacks. My problem has always been carbs and fries, I don't need a sweet tooth, too! I have been doing better with the sweets than with spending money.

Sandy, I can't wait to see your three spectacular virginias! I think these are really more difficult to make, since they have the strips of leather and stitching. All three of mine are just exquisite, and I know yours will be, too!! And CHAINS!! My fuchsia virginia with chains is a bit heavy, but I am sure you are expecting a little heaviness from your mini sophias.

Thank goodness for days off LOL... I'll get my fix in before the weekend then! Waistline and wallet beware (I can never seem to make it out of there without spending at least $20)!

Yeah, this week has been a rollercoaster indeed. I've also started waking up in the middle of the night and staying awake for at least two hours. DH has been wonderful...constant reminder of how lucky I am LOL...and that I need to buy him something nice. ROFL Of course, I think this is just him buttering me up for the insane amounts of fireworks he's planning on buying...but sweet nonetheless.

It's called Cream Pan and it's in Tustin, CA...SO SO good. Although, my favorite bakery of all time is in SD...But Cream Pan is a close second!

Hans and Harry's in Bonita! My family's been going there for years and it hasn't changed (now...I wish I had made my mom get me something from there on her way up here this weekend...sigh...all this dessert talking has made me hungry!)

How many people from San Diego here? LOL
MY DH lived there for 4 yrs.
1 year for his birthday I ordered an apple pie from Julian for him... he was so surprised and happy!

He just called me and asked why a big box from Michigan came to his office- yippee!

Ahhh I LOVE Hans and Harry's! They are amazing! That fruit tart they have is TDF. Now that I think about it, maybe that's why my favorite this morning was the strawberry croissant - because it reminded me of the H&H fruit tart. We spent $20 too Irainei.

I grew up in SD and moved up here to Orange County for college - and I'm still here. WTG on the Julian pie Duranie. I bet you made his day. Also on the list is Extraordinary Desserts downtown in SD. They are incredible.

Hey is that big Michigan box an Ignes? Yay!

OMG such a small world ROFL...I grew up in SD, moved to Pomona for college, then moved to OC to live with DH (then BF).

GP- LOL too easy to spend $20...then you look at your box and go...OMG, did I really choose all that?! And then it's gone in a flash. Hans and Harry's has a strawberry crossisant, but not as good as Cream Pan's. But that fruit thing is the BEST! I have yet to eat at Extraordinary Desserts...I keep hearing about it, but I'm such a lover of H&H...plus, Bonita is closer to where my mom lives than Hilcrest. For my SD baby shower, I'm having my mom order a cake from H&H...I need to find a good bakery for my OC baby shower, any recs?
Ooh, before I forget, there's another place you need to try if you like ice cream...Mochilato's in Irvine...it's those Japanese dough wrapped desserts, but instead of ice cream, they have gelato in them. SO GOOD! But only if you like mochi. DH doesn't like mochi, so I don't take him there (although, I could make a case for the gelato...)

Duranie- Dude. You ROCK...Julian Apple Pies are yummy! Especially the crumb one (warm, with a scoop of ice cream). And score on the big box!!!
