Sorry I have been away... as soon as I heard MJ died I have been off...
I was a huge fan... as it turns out I was at his last concert... 9/10/01 the day before 9-11. I always remembered I was telling my bosses about the MJ concert when the plane struck WTC. This was taken in LA the same day he was filming the video Remember the Time . I have VH1 on... really his songs were the best in my lifetime, he was such a major talent. There will never be anyone as famous as him.. who buys records anymore.. and Music Television no longer exists.. now you turn on VH1 and MTV and see stupid reality crap. |

Wow, what a treasure to have Duranie! And what a story you have to tell. Incredible. Thanks for sharing with us. I've been singing all the songs off the Thriller album to myself these past couple of days.

Thanks TL- I have met a lot pf people and he along w/ Garth Brooks was always THE NICEST. He really loved his fans and always stopped to sign. I have met the duran guys so much and let me tell you, they just don't care...I love Duran but when you get to them, its not anything "special" - no warmth. Michael was so sweet.

I had the biggest crush on Michael Jackson when I was younger (and before all the plasatic surgery stuff started). He was so cute back then! I am a bit shocked at his death...Farrah Fawcett, we all knew she was struggling with an illness but it's sad. But Michael Jackson, I didn't see it coming. what a sad life.

That's good therapy to channel your mom. I do the same with my grandma whenever I'm preparing a meal. Grandma was not warm and cuddly, but, by golly, that woman could cook. Anyway, it makes me feel like she's close by. I hope you get the same feeling. Sorry your bro is still hurting. I sometimes think it's harder on men because they're not allowed to grieve as openly as women. |

^^Thanks, FT. I agree...rather be me mourning than bro. (But aren't I a two day thread killer? Yikes!)
Duranie...I'm so sorry this is hitting so hard. I understand but am sorry. |

Quiet forum...and it's not cuz of you NC!
MJ on the brain and now Billy Mays too...weird week in Hollywood land. Been really busy this weekend, oddly enough. Took the niece out for Mini-golf (her first time!)... Thanks to Auntie Raine for helping her win (not my fault DH entrusted the scorekeeping to me...). AND DH surprised me last night by taking me to our favorite restaurant ever, the Jazz Kitchen at Downtown Disney. We got seated on the balcony (which was nice and cool, considering that the heat's been rising), had a perfect view of the fireworks from D-land AND shared the best dessert EVER (double chocolate bread pudding). On top of it all, he finally felt Bronx kick him. Just a nice night all around. Well except for almost running into two people I have no care to talk to ever again, but luckily they didn't see us or recognize us. And today, I finally found the one plant I wanted in our garden...I can't stand regular tomatoes and had all but given up on finding a Roma tomato plant, but at the last nursery that we went to, we found it!!! Yippie! I'm nervous y'alls. I can't say why because discussing it would be against forum rules (Right GP? ROFL )...just keep me in your thoughts and let's hope this week goes well!

Remember my great excitement about finishing a fellowship application, dropping it off for boss to sign, and him saying it was set? Guess what. Called to confirm today, and it's not in the right office. WTF?

OK, those who pray, please start now.
Those who believe in the power of thought, good thoughts are needed desperately. Good friend of ours went into labor at 24 weeks. Doctors unable to stop the labor. Baby has been delivered and rushed to Childrens Hospital NICU. It's a boy. So far, the mother is fine, thank goodness. |
