SK- WTH? That is terrible. What is her issue? I hope she lets the person who should be making the call about qualifications do it. I'm sorry, but people should read beyond the titles of your positions. I'm hoping it all goes okay w/ trying to get submitted for the position.

Waiting on a start date for the new firm. HR guy is out until tomorrow, but I have an email in to him asking when I am to come in for sure. I imagine next Monday or Tuesday, but am excited to find out when for sure! I will follow up Friday if I don't hear anything tomorrow.

I've decided this is the most incompetent recruiting firm ever, they obviously have no clue what their client is actually looking for. This position is promotions management in the food industry, i.e. Kraft Mac & Cheese is on sales at Target, from the Kraft side I would figure out the why, when, where, price point, dicount given to Target etc.. It's pretty specialized, I worked for a huge corporation and only a few dozen people in the US did this, but they won't even give me the time of day. I mean, I'd understand if I was applying for a payables or payroll position, millions of people have that experience. I revised my resume, and resent it. Honestly I'm so embarrassed by the resume because it follows no accepted format at all. It goes into minute detail about the revelent duties at my last position, and everything else is just reduced to company, dates, and title. I called today to follow up and was again told this isn't a finance job, WTF, read past my title! I again tried to explain that Finance controlled this function in my previous company. It makes some sort of sense, giving discounts costs money?? I wore the receptionist down, and she agreed to have the recruiter call me. Instead I receive an email "The Recruiter said that you should elaborate even more on your resume. It's ok if it goes to 2 pages. You should indicate that the Finance dept. were the ones who oversaw the promotions management." Isn't putting my title, saying I supported the Finance VP & Finance team and then putting my promotions mgmt experience under that position self explanatory? I forwarded the email, resume and job posting to a friend/former coworker, because I thought maybe I'm missing something, and he thought it was just as insane as I did. So I'm going to revise again. My worry is that if I get my resume to conform to this firm's standards, they send it to the client and they think I'm an idiot who can't write a resume?

Shame you can't find out who the client is and forward them your resume directly, that suc_s.

I can not do a reveal until my hubby is not home. The handbag fell out of the dustbag when I got hiome and his eyes marrowed. I stuffed it into the bag and threw it in the closet. He "knows"I would not do that to a new bag.

Is 16 handbags too many? ugh.

I hope a re-writing helps you out. If you do get an interview, I'd bring your regular resume w/ you and tell them flat out that the recruiting place made you do a certain format if you are afraid it is going to look bad.

D- tricky stuff w/ your husband! Won't he recognize a new bag though?

D - Still looking forward to the reveal!

So I interviewed at the recruiting firm yesterday. The firm is super small, two people, one phone call the two hrs I was there. It was totally bizarre, I had to take a written filing test....lol...glad I know my ABC's! They also had me take a Word test, when the position requires heavy Excel.

So I was told they have a couple of candidates and they might make an offer before I get a chance to interview. If not then I'll have a phone interview next week. I still want the job, because it pays well, but I'm not as excited as I was originally. It's apparently a small Japanese Noodle manufacterer, privately held, Japanese owned, not thrilled about that honestly. So I'll just have to wait and see....

Am wondering if they only have Mock Croc in red? I have been seeing a lot of mock croc and real croc lately and the Ignes Louisa on the site is so pretty. I bet in black or brown it would look so pretty as an accent. I just wrote to Maria asking if they have anything other then red.

I have good news... I have an interview Friday, for that job from that horrible recruiter! Did a phone interview already, so hopefully this will be the final hurdle.

GP- sorry you've not been feeling well. I hope you feel better soon.

TL- Bear is getting so big- but still adorable!

New job is going very well. Everyone is very welcoming, helpful and friendly. I am getting some interesting work too, even though it is a new area to me (fair debt collection stuff). I will look here on my lunch break, but only on the Blackberry. They have crazy blocking software on the computers. I have to up my auto policy to 250,000/500,000 coverage and up property damage to 100k, so the firm policy kicks in when on firm business in an auto accident. Well, I can't even go to my insurance company's website to print proof of coverage to submit it! I even tried some other sites, like the Fla. State online law library and that is blocked! I think I'm just going to keep a list of sites that are business related, like the law library, that are blocked and ask for them to unblocked. Even CNN is blocked... I guess that is just part of it though- it is a big firm (for Florida standards, 12 offices, etc.), so there will be more admin stuff like that.

Gee Elizat- NOTHING is blocked here. Thelen blocked Facebook and MYspace..that is it. here nothing is blocked. Yay for me.. but I am usually too swamped at work to actually look. LOL

GP: Hope you get well soon. We had the flu run through our house but it wasn't too bad for us. It just lasts for at least 2 weeks with the cough, sinus problems etc. I finally feel normal again until I go outside and start coughing again! LOL!

Elizat: Yes, Bear is growing like a weed! He was 9 pounds when we got him and now is 30 pounds! He gets 'snipped' in just another week so he'll stay calm! He's going to be one big dog! I just love him to pieces! Glad work is going well and that everyone is friendly to you!

SK: Hope the perspective job goes well!
