E, I am so, so sorry for your loss. I hope things settle down for you and I selfishly look forward to seeing you back here to obsess with me over handbags. Take your time though, you deserve it.

Euridice, so sorry about your mom. Sometimes these things have a way of bringing the rest of the family closer together. Glads that's the case with you and your brother. I know that's how it was with me - my brother & I are much closer now. Good luck to you and your family.

I am so sorry Euridice. The loss of a parent is the worst.

Irainei - he is adorable! You must be so happy.

E, I hope you are doing okay.

______________

Worked in the bathroom all day w/ my dad. Finished the floor, grouted (need to do another coat in spots), installed the vanity and mirror, towelbars, etc. I have to do trim work for painting and the additional grout, then seal after a week or so. Other than that, it is done. Really tired though. I'm going to clean up and then put away all the tools. I may paint the edges and trim this evening to be done, but I'm not sure.

Thinking about you, E.

________

SK, any job updates?

______________

I have some photos to share of the bathroom. I just have to re-grout in some spots and put up some decorations on the wall. I was going to frame these funky papers I found in shadow boxes, but I'm not sure yet.

It is really hard to take photos in this bathroom b/c it is a rectangle with the door set walking in. So, kind of odd angles.

Before- particle board vanity, formica counter, lineoleum, ugly light, etc.

After- marble tile, wood furniture vanity w/ granite top, new towel bars, paint, mirror, lighting, etc.

Thanks, TL! It is actually just cheap window film from Ebay! I found a guy from China that sold long rolls b/c that window is something like 7.5 feet long or something. It had custom blinds that were ugly and old and no other window treatments fit, b/c it is long and narrow. The film is nice b/c light comes in but still gives privacy. I think the roll was $13 w/ shipping!

How clever! I love touches like that! It's sometimes those little inexpensive, unexpected details that pull it all together! Great find, I really like it!

That looks great Elizat! I'm so impressed by your home improvements!

Funny you ask about my job search. I got so frustrated today I cried! On Friday I found his job that is a PERFECT fit (and pays significantly better than my last position!!). It is in my industry and exactly what I used to do, which is pretty specialized. So I excitedly apply and send a very detailed cover letter. I call the recruiting agency that posted the position, I get screen by the receptionist, and she tells me she will pass my info on to the recruiter. I get a call back a few minutes later from the receptionist who tell me I'M NOT QUALIFIED! She explains that this is a sales job, and my experience is in Finance (my last title was Finance Admin). I try to explain that Finance in my prior company is covers a broader scope than a lot of others, but tried to assure her, I did these exact same functions. Then she tells me that I'm an admin, and they are looking for an assistant! Umm...I didn't know how to reply to that, because I'm an administrative assistant. I asked her if she would please pass along the cover letter, because that explains specifically the experience as they apply to this position, and I get told that my resume doesn't reflect that. Because on a resume I have to fit 5 positions at 2 companies, so it can't be all that detailed. So I'm going to rewrite my resume, completely off any template, so I can specifically spell out my experience, because this recruiter apparently can't read cover letters!
