Thanks, everyone. I will update. Lionlaw, thank you. I did show the pictures to Maria in e-mail attachments immediately after taking them on the same day as the delivery. She hasn't commented on them yet as she hasn't told me anything yet concerning my case apart from what I posted today. You're very informative as it's understandable after how such a liberal return policy could've resulted in such massive amount of returns for any reason, and therefore a much more careful and tedious approach.

True enough, LL. Although I do differ and think the white is just variation, but wth do I know about hair bags.

Well, I think if it's not teh bag you were expecting....I mean not expecting hair, that's kind of a big deal! And it has this white, you should be able to get a return. I don't think this merits discussion, but I suppose it they need to discuss, then they need to.

I need to familiarize myself with the new policy. If there is something wrong with the bag, you need to be able to return it. If it's just not working out, I was htinking you could return but get another bag instead of a refund.

^ I agree. They didn't note it had hair when confirming, it was not labeled as a hair leather on their website and now it has white hair on it? I think this is an easy return.

Have they told you want they are going to do?

Guys, sorry for the delay, but the delays because of discussion between each Ignes response e-mail got me kind of antsy. Well, bottom line is I cannot get a full refund and 50 percent off the Sofia (before the modifications, messenger strap, etc.) is the best they'll offer. I actually had to make this even an option because the only option that they initiated was to have the Sofia returned with no refund on it and just have 35 percent off on another bag with a refund of the difference in price between it and the Sofia.

As to the white hairs, Maria told me that those white hairs were the reason or part of the reason why she called it "multi-tan and gold" (which is also labelled as multi-gold and tan on their website??? Okay, that is very confusing.). My rebuttal was that "multi-tan" means different kinds of tan, not green, not blue, not white, etc. Also, the rest of the body (front and back) was very consistent with the name in terms of the color scheme, yet there was an abundance of white hairs in random places on one side and a much smaller patch of white hairs on the other side beneath a pocket. I also said that I understand that you need to shorten a name for convenience, but not to the point where it's so misleading.

After I had told her that if 50 percent off the Sofia (excluding modifications) was as low as I could go without hurting the company, then it's accepted. She got back to me in a confirmation e-mail, saying that she noted my points, was glad we reached an agreement, and will refund promptly the 50 percent off before modifications.

I guess what is done is done. I still admire Ignes for their variety of leathers, and I will mention that the stitching was amazing! I literally gawked at how straight and even it was. I do think that they are a very respectable company even though this is my only experience with them, but I say judging from what they offer in fashion and reading about the experiences from you guys, I can think that. They are deserving of their place on The Purse Forum, and my experience is just another exception out of a large number of very smooth, accurate, and successful services.

I will post the other pics that I said I would earlier. The rest of the bag is just fine.

I'm glad that it sounds like there was a satisfactory resoultion for both you and Ignes! I know they work hard to provide great customer service and it's great that you got a partial refund, which, I'm sure that other companies would not have entertained such an idea (or even fessed up to there being an error on their end...I know ladies, we won't go there! ROFL).

So do you still send the bag back to Ignes?

I do hope that you'll try bespoking another bag with Ignes and have a happier conculsion the next go around! Thanks for updating us with your situation!

No, I get to keep the bag (which will most likely sit in its dustbag in my closet brand new if I can't sell it). I don't see the point in losing out on most of my money spent and the bag I spent it on (though unwanted) other than having more free space in my room and closet.

Thanks, I hope so too as I am interested in the Cecilia, but I know for sure that I'm going to refer to non-affiliated TPF and not the Ignes catalogue for reference this time!

Well, I do think it was defective. I'm glad you are pleased enough w/ the resolution, but I think this was refund territory. For a moment I thought you were getting only half back and they take the bag back (if that was the case, I would have said to do a chargeback b/c that is not right).

Hmm. Not sure I like the explanation, but so long as you are happy. I agree with Elizat, I would consider the white a defect too.

^ Well, I still certainly think that it warrants a full refund. It really does look defective and was mislabeled and misrepresented as multi-tan and gold or multi-gold and tan (whichever one Ignes uses at the moment because they used both) which was why in the beginning of this issue, I had asked Maria to warn the potential buyer (the girl Maria said was interested if I didn't want the bag) about the white hairs and showed her the pics of them without any question as to why they were there. She, after a few days, came back and just briefly mentioned that it's why it's called multi-tan and gold, which makes no sense because that's blatant misuse of the term. Well, then you know the rest of the story.

It's the strict new return policy that they do not want to set a precedent for in flexibility, but I think that's completely understanding in terms of that you cannot return a bag if you simply changed your mind about the bag when you see it in production pics or in real life. This was not the case for me. I think the bag was very much misrepresented and mislabelled, but I think that that's the only reason why Maria would give even a partial refund (though a full refund would be fair).

Anyway, call me softspoken or jaded, but I just opted for the 50 percent only because it took more than a week of back and forth and delaying to finally get that far.

Okay, the first three of my pics of the bag in general. They're taken in the light of my bedroom at night. More are coming....

In the light of my room at night... This is without the stuffing, so that the bag is slouchy but still has good structure to it.

I have daytime pics (artificial lighting) in my room if you want, but it still has the Ignes packaging on the handles.

Naga, those IRL pictures still make the bag look fab! I just wish it was what you were expecting!

I'm glad you were able to work something out. Hopefully you can sell it and recoup what your costs. That way someone will get a beautiful bag they want, you won't be out anything and Ignes wasn't hurt by it.
