The Chiara is so pretty! That box was beat up... I hope you can resolve the other issues.
An online sample sale/pre made section would be really fantastic... for all the returns. Oh, how I wish they did that, esp. if there are for a steal, like dsrk posted! |

Mmmm, looking at the pictures, I'd have to agree with eniale that they were very unlikely to be damaged in shipping. If the London shipping company handles the bags directly, then they could have done it. Meaning, that shipping company could have placed them in their dustbags or taken them out and put them in again to keep track of which was which. I was very surprised to read that they were not placed in plastic bags after being placed in their dustbags. This is Autumn--there is rain in many parts! IMHO, Ignes should place them in their dustbags, then in a plastic bag, seal the plastic bag with tape and then place an inventory sticker on them with the item description. Of the top of my head, Goldenbleu does this, Minkoff does this. Then Ignes' shipping partner is not tempted or does not need to open the dustbags.
The shipping box failed because there was too much empty space left in the box. (I ship a lot of stuff on fleabay.) If the shipper doesn't have a small enough box to snugly (but of course not tightly) package, they should fill in the rest of the space with bubble wrap. Issue paper is not a good filler because it compresses so easily. Only bubble wrap or the thicker brown shipping paper work. There were definitely some goofs here. And is the handle on your Chiara actually cut? |

I agree with adoptastray that the packing could be better, I felt that way too when I received my bags. But since only the box was damaged, and I have more problem with the quality of the bags, it became a minor issue. This is the first time I received a broken package and I do receive lots of posts. Generally we use AirPlus to fill up the spaces here.
The shipping from London to me is done by UPS and the shipper on the paper was Ignes UK address... But I do not know the details. Trust me, the midi Sofia I received, is like a 2nd class product compared to the Chiara. For me, it is one thing that I know I am buying from a sample sale/2nd hand but another that I ordered a full priced bag. That is why I am so unhappy with the quality control. For most major brands like Gucci, Prada...etc here, they do not even sell products with exterior problems with a mark down price, only if it has interior problems. Honestly, I would not have bought the midi Sofia if I have seen the bag in a shop. Ignacio will only be able to get back to me when he has discussed the issues with his production team next Monday. I will try to post more pictures of the Chiara in the mean time.

Oh, sorry to hear about your bag issues e_n_i_a_l_e, and totally agree with yourself and adoptastray regarding packaging issues, afterall we expect our items in pristine condition. I totally understand your disappointment at receiving flawed bags, especially after hearing Ignes being compared to higher end brands. This is very helpful to newbies, to get an honest, unbiased opinion. Thank you for your honesty, and look forward to seeing more photos. In my experience with dealing with Ignacio, he has been very helpful, although I hope any QC issues are nipped in the bud early on, as you shouldn't be receiving any bags in the condition you described, and from your photos. Good luck!!

I like the way you think, frangelica! ![]() I wonder if it wouldn't make just as much sense, if not more, to ship returns to the US rather than London for sample sales. I mean, why not the US, especially if some of the returns are already here?? Wonder how many people return bags period, for that matter.

Hey No Cute,
Sorry I have not yet posted more... needed an Ignes free weekend, especially all others are getting lovely bags. I can't look at them 'cos it makes me- and then The thing is, I have no updates either... he told me last monday that he will get back to me regarding the return etc when he gets back yesterday. But unlike other girls that got replies from him, am still waiting. I got my bags on the 19th Sep and emailed him on the same day. The waiting is getting a bit unbearable for me. Trying to keep it as positive as I can as I certainly don't want to mess with the Bag Karma! I have never needed to wait this long for bags AND to even need to wait this long to just get info on what I should do with flawed items. Makes me wonder how come they don't have an established return system??? Wasn't he away for 2 weeks too back in July? And if I need to ship the bags to London like dsrk mentioned, why can't anyone from the London office do anything about this? My job requires me to travel a lot and I start to find myself adjusting to his schedule which is starting to annoy me. (had to have my bags shipped to my parents, as I did not know when to expect them. and now have to bring the bags to them over the weekend again as I do not know what is happening and might not be here when I can proceed with the return... had to go get a box too since the original box is so broken...) Ok sorry about all these ranting, and thanks for all of your supports here... I know it will be fine, it is just all the waiting time is starting to kill my desire for more Ignes. No matter how much I love the Chiara bag, I start to regret making a big order back in August when I could have bought one beautiful Chanel or Smythson, Bally, LV anything that I could have started to use for months. Now I have one bag, and a lot of bag troubles. |
