I got my sister's baby millie, and the stitching was good, leather looked good- color pink and very pretty. Very happy.
Looked at the sides- some uneveness, but not enough to really bother me. Then I open it up and the key fob is ginormous and the fabric lining is too big for the bag. Is this normal for the millie bags? Am I just being anal? I dont want to give her something that is subpar. I am not returning it because I just dont have the energy to deal with returns anymore. So do I keep it and just use it as a run-around bag or give it to her but I will be embarrassed if she picks up the issues I am spotting. The keyfob measure close to 13 inches. the bag is 9 inches across. First, here are pics of the bag-- love the pinks together-- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The key fob: ![]() ![]() ![]() Sides:

I'm paging down through your pics, and just LOVING it!! Then I get to the snake tongue picture....I mean the key fob....I burst out laughing!! It's just so unexpected. I'm not too bothered by that side stitching because I know these are structured leathers and I was kind of wondering how they would do in this style. But that fob is crazy! Can you just cut it out?? Is your sister like you, into super deluxe bags?? Or is she like your mom, who I'm thinking was into $50 bags? I think the bag is so pretty and just delightful. There must be a bad cluster of stars over the IGnes workshop. It's like they have forgotten how to make bags. |

My sister is not into designers at all. But the last thing I want to do is give her a "designer" bag and then people laugh at her when she opens it up. Plus they dont really get my "obsession" so I dont want to give her this and then my family make a big deal out of how non-designer purses are made better, etc. Just for laughs-- here is the closed-purse fob pic-- almost like a dog with its tongue out!

perhaps having a weapon will be a blessing in disguise. imagine coming home late at night and getting accosted by a stranger. that keyfob will definitely whip that person into shape. hahaha.

Okay, Ignes love aside, I did seriously laugh at how long the keyfob thingy is. It's long in both my Tango and Veronica, but ya, I'd take it to a cobbler and have it....shall I say, edited? And I have to say that longer is better on these key thingies as coming home at night, fussing for the keys, needing to get them to the door in the dark. The same length as a regular bag really is functional, but this is a little silly.
Otherwise, it really is a winner...very happy, joyful, make someone smile bag. I vote have the cobbler cut it down quickly and then gift it. Non-Millie (soon to be fixed problem ) but several clutches owner, I'd say the lining looks fine in picks. The Tango and Veronica are structured, so less lining, but Millie really is a shifty, puddlish, flexy bag that needs a bit more lining, imo. But it does not look out of whack in the pics.

The bag is really pretty. I just love the colours. From the pics, the fabric lining doesn't look too big IMO but whoa, that key strap is on steroids!

Hmmm , it might be cool that the keyfob is soooo long cause then when she opens the door it is easier... comes so far out of the bag. I've had bags w/ too short a strap and it is like WTF... and I have to unclip them to open the door, I hate that. I'd actually be happy with that to be honest.

yeah, I hate that too, duranie, come to think of it. hmm. But, maybe No Cute's cobbler idea with a little choppage might be the way to go.

I use the key fob a lot and yeah, it's good to have it longer in general because it's easier to access. I don't have a Millie so I don't know how much room is in there but in clutches and smaller bags though, I'd prefer to have it a little shorter because it does tend to 'swim' around the bottom of the bag and take up space.

^^ ROFL OMG I just died that is so funny!!!
LL, I wouldn't be too concerned about it. The lining in my Petra is loose like that and when folded, you wouldn't be looking THAT close to it. Besides, didn't you say you didn't like pink? ...and if you need to rehome it... I'd *ahem* like to be put in the proverbial line. |
