I really wanted something in the caramal/whiskey family for a new Francis but there's nothing on the sale that is close to that color that wouldn't have to be reinforced and I've had such good luck with my Raspberry Francis I want to get a similar leather in a new one- my Francis is my primary laptop bag for travel/meetings so gets banged around a bit -- I just wanted another one in a different color family so I'd have options So, I'm now considering the dark purple because the leather is perfect but I'm just not sure of the color since I wanted something in the brown family - might be worth it to just wait and order using the 15% discount we get and get the color I really want

that's a good point, although the purple is really nice. But if you need a brown...well, the 15% is there for you!!

Is the double tone brown not an option? I had a double tone bordeaux that was sturdy enough for a mini Ormala. Maybe consider that, unless Maria says it won't work?

^ I hope it helps Suzzee!

Has anyone actually confirmed the stud thing? That NOT having studs is really $20? Not ordering, but curious.

Ok, so I took the plunge! I ordered a Cherry Red Gabby with SHW. :) Hope she's lovely!

Biloxiblu! Congrats! The cherry is a gorgeous leather, and Gabby is a killer style! Hope you love it!

Momo, great great idea for pic!

Suzzee is taupe in the sale? It's gorgeous, but it does scratch a bit for a work bag, imo, though tinted chocolate doesn't. Both would need some reinforcement, well, more for the tinted.

Suzzee,
I think you could probably convince yourself that purple actually IS in the brown family.

HELP-- is the ink blue really metallic looking in real life? It looks like a deep pretty blue in pics, but am afraid it might be too metallic for me. Does it look mylar-like at all?

LL, it's got some metallic. But it's not overwhelming. But how much metallic do/don't you like? I'm trying to think what to compare to....it's very pretty. Ummm...in the sun today, it wasn't all scary shiny.

Do you know what 729 is called? 729 is shiny/blingier by quite a bit. The glossy ink blue looks purpley next to tinted blue, imo, the shimmer makes it lighter, not blingy.

Update: 729 is pearlized charcoal. Didn't you get an Emilia in this one? It's more metallic than my swatch of glossy ink.

I dont like a lot of metallic. More subtle like the Valentino I have. The dolce is a real limb for me to carry.

I dont like any be crash leathers because they are too metallic for my taste. My charcoal diamond is ok for me and I like it. Muted metallic I guess.

Did you post a pic of 729? Are you sure it is the pearly charcoal? If so, then the glossy ink blue is definitely for me if it is less metallic than the pearlized charcoal (or what was called black diamond).

It says 729 and I remember wanting to see it after you got yours and the color name was all messed up. (So NOT black diamond, btw, but I see what they are getting at.) Glossy ink blue is DEFINITELY not as metallic as the pearlized charcoal...in my swatches, any way.
