Ok, just wanted to start this thread! Hi all the mindfull ladies around.
I think we should start making a list of what we have and what we really want, so we can stick to it and give honest opinions to each other. |

ok, I want a BV black cosmetic case full size. The new ball bag is great, but it is so open, and the suede pouch that comes with it is not very use friendly, so I have decided to buy a cosmetic case and put it into the new ball.
I also need a small coin purse ( havent decided the brand yet) If I try to buy anything else, please stop me!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Thanks, NBL! I need to be more mindful! I have been trying but got caught up. I'm getting back the ground I lost though!
I own: BE TME midi in matte tan BE TME midi in milk chocolate pebbled luxe Ignes mini Chiara in dark grey Ignes midi Sofia in tinted chocolate On the way: RM MAMM black basketweave Special Order RM MAMM plum BE Hold Me Clementine bespoke (probably, still waiting on the numbers) BE Surprise Me dark purple pebbled (won this one!) BE Charm Me Mini matte petrol (putting this off until fall or winter) I want a dark purple matte BE but I'm waiting. I just love the dark purple matte leather. But maybe dh will get one for me for Christmas. For now I have enough bags coming so no more for me. I don't want to let go of what I have now so don't need to add more than I already have on the way. So, time to be mindful! Even if Ignes has a great sale and the prettiest mini chiara ever pops up.... Gotta be mindful! |

Here's me. That's a whole lotta damage since September. And I've sold like five bags, too, and several accessories, not to mention giving away a bunch of Nine West and Guess bags.
Ignes Ormala in pink and purple patent and red and raspberry suede Virginia in sand with navy patent bottom and navy suede Mini Ormala in Bordeaux with lilac fabric Millie in gunmetal/silver with electric blue suede Tango Max in dark grey patent with braided shoulder strap and embossed suede Tango in blue South American ostrich with cream fabric Tango in royal purple with yellow fabric Veronica Max in soft gold with camel/cream fabric Luka in tinted chocolate and raspberry with chocolate with gold suede Goldenbleu Tiffany in amethyst patent made in Italy Emerson in red patent made in China with suede lining Linea Pelle Gillian clutch in espresso Sydney clutch in silver Maxx New Yorker pvc Shopper in cranberry Kooba Hope in black Via Spiga Shopper in black Accessories Coach Kate Spade (1) Lodis (2) Ignes wrislets (2) and pouches (3) Coach wristlets (2) Vintage Clutches Dean Bowler clutch in red Some laptop bags and Guess and Fossil left, too. So here are 17 bags. With the other unlisted stuff, closer to 25 or more? Ugh, more decluttering of those I don't carry or take them out and carry them for goodness sake. |

I want a purple bag! Period. The right purple, so I wait.
I want Ignes Cecilia, Emilia, and Luisa, and a baby Millie. Leathers I want are tinted wine, tinted blue, and a purple. Also, one day, a Prada. And a Katherine Kwei. And HH's Lorca in crinkle violet calls to me sometimes. Well, a lot of bags call to me...lol. I would also like a Christopher Kon and Bliss Lau in my collection one day. |

Y'all, there is nothing wrong with having 33 bags. Or having 6 bags. I think for some people, more than 6 is a freaker. For others, a larger, varied collection is a joy and inspiration.
I think the important thing is not to hold one's self to others' standards but to figure out what is right for you. newbaglover, I think you will be happier once you de-accession some of your collection (I am NOT trying to encourage you to have 33 bags by any means!), but I think it is a well-planned, color-balanced collection that is very lovely. It's not a crazy random, mixed up, buy everything on impulse kind of thing. You have a remarkable variety of lovely textures. |

I have a rather frightening bag collection, based largely on Mulberry, Balenciaga, Chloe and Belen Echandia, with a bit of Botkier and some small scale UK artisans thrown in. I am not offering you a list because it freaks me. Because of my previous excessive behaviour, I am really trying very hard to go cold turkey and not get involved with Ignes (.........or Rebecca Minkoff). For that reason, I will hang around in this thread with you for mutual strength. |

^^^Impressive good or scary? It scares me...lol. All but one bag (Virginia) and two accessories (Kate Spade and matching Lodis piece) were purchased on sale. So I did well containing costs given the mix but still a lot of cash for me.
NBL, you have a lovely collection. Euridice is right, you have great colors and textures. You know, I really want to do more trading on bonanzle, too. Selling is nice to fund new bags, but a new to me bag is fun, too. My IRL purse friend laughs at me; we have concluded I am very purse fickle. |

Well, I have so many bags I can't even count them all, let alone list them, so I have a purse problem. My fav brand is choo. Of those, my favs are the crocodile Jimmy Choos- probably the mahalas.
I find the bags I really tend to treasure are my exotics. But they are not practical for everyday use so I like my Ignes as my workhorse bags. I think I have come to the realization that I dont want to pay a ton for a bag that is going to show wear fast (unless it is an exotic). So I am going to try to find more bags (like the be cervos) on bonanzle and ebay instead of buying them outright since the resale value is pretty bad. I REALLY REALLY want to buy this Zagliani I found on sale, but am trying to be good. The python or ostrich BE will be ready in August and I have the Ignes bowler coming and the Dolce coming so I have bags coming in. I need to focus on moving bags out more. |

Glad you started the thread!
I am determined not to buy for a year, hopefully. I have a comfort level of ownership much lower than most, but here is what I have (I have sold off a good bit recently). There are some that are staying for sure though: Black Sak Silverlake Satchel (staying) Bryna Nicole Minna Slouch Brown Kooba Sloane BE TME Midi White HH Mercer Satchel Purple Dautore hobo (staying) Grey BE Make Me Smile Midi The other bags I am not in love with or they just don't get carried. I would really like an Ignes Emilia in cobalt- I have talked about cobalt for months... I do want to save though and my goal is to start saving up to do really nice trips- I'd like to go to a ton of places abroad and hope to do it yearly for trips that are at least 2 weeks, starting 2 yrs from now, once I turn 30. If I buy only one bag a year on sale, I can really actually see being able to do it and feel no pinch at all w/ actually having to "save." As it is, I probably buy a bag every 2 months or so, sell it at a loss, etc. I could likely save at least $1k-2k per year by only buying one bag a year that was well thought out. I also want to re-do another bathroom and can do the whole bit for under $500 b/c it is surface work, like new vanity, floor, paint, lighting, etc. That is encouragement not to purchase just for the hell of it b/c I could do so much nicer things with the money. |

I'm in.
I have 15 bags (and one Mini Emilia on the way makes 16) and 6 clutches. Total of 22!!! I also have 5 wristlets and I think 3 or 4 wallets. I am so done with bags. I have more than my comfort zone and like No Cute, I am trying to limit myself to space restrictions. Right now, all of my stuff takes up 3 shelves, but it is really tight. So the goal is no more bags for a while - a very long while (at least until next year, maybe more). Exceptions to the above rule are:

This is so much fun to see how each gal categorizes her purses: by color, or designer, or use, or what's here and coming, what's staying or leaving, some little or lots of detail. We each look at our "collections" in different ways! And I think listing makes us so much more aware of what we have and what we might need or NOT. I've been doing this very thing for weeks.
Here's how I view mine: Everyday bags: MJ Christy, black, gold hw, light grey suede lining BE TME midi, plum crash, silver hw, fuschia fabric lining (fall/winter) Ignes Sophia midi, dark grey, silver hw, lilac suede lining Everyday Etc: LV accessory pouch, monogram (in all purses - for all little stuff) LV cles, groom monogram (in all purses - for quarters for parking in Chicago!! - and singles for valet) BE angel purse, black crash, silver hw (in all purses - for all the extra cards and memberships) Vaja iPhone case, dark blue and black (in all purses) Kenneth Cole wallet, plum, silver hw (for silver hw purses) MJ zip clutch wallet, black, gold hw (for gold hw purses) 4 Coach wristlets/pouches: teal patent, black leather, pink Heritage stripe, ergo scarf print (1 in a purse - for GPS) 2 HH Mercer leather sunglass cases: black, saddle (use the black, saddle not so much) Travel bags: Botkier large Sasha, black, gold hw (use as purse for extra carryon, but also a great overnight bag) 2 HH Havana hobos: blush, grey (pack flat, light as a feather, can stuff with everything) Brighton Document Organizer wallet/purse, black patent, silver hw (a purse that becomes my travel wallet) HH passport cover, lagoon 2 HH crossbody iPod cases: black, white (for plane/car rides, and walking/working out) Evening: RM Lex Clutch, night with gold crackle (my gold) KC Portfolio Clutch, pewter (my sort-of silver) Ignes Luisa, pearlized charcoal and gunmetal (ordered) (my silver) 2 Coach Basic bags: black, mahogony (my "theater" bags - crossbody and small, don't have to even think about them) Ignes Luka clutch, dark grey and aubergine (can match anything without going metallic) Lord & Taylor beaded bag, black (dressy) Evening etc: Cole Haan Nappa french wallet, black, gold hw (fits better in smaller bags) HH Emily clutch, pewter (small metallic wristlet) 4 HH tassels: chocolate, blush, black, saddle (use on different purses, different times, but haven't used saddle) Casual weekend: Coach Soho leather hobo, black (can get dirty or wet and never show it, and cleans like a champ, is light, but just a smidge small) What I'm not using: 2 Coach: Janice's Legacy and City, both black classic leather (wore them both to death and they're just retired - like me!) HH Clara clutch wallet, yam with violet and indigo patent, gold hw (great price, pretty, really want to use, but very heavy) Betsey Johnson Safari medium, cognac, pink silky patterned lining (only major mistake I made - it's huge!) Several totes(maybe 6): in leather, fabric, canvas, metallic (just don't need them anymore, but try to bring them out for shopping) Anuschka handpainted Safari organizer wallet, brown (really unusual, but not as practical as Brighton's) Several beaded, spangled bags, in various colors (again maybe 6) (also used to death, but now too small and too dressy for much use) I like my hardware to match my jewelry and shoes. I also like to have an everyday bag (with everything already stashed in it) that I can just grab and go with (and that could continue into the evening well), and only switch out for traveling or planned events. I think I have all my comfort bases covered for purses at the moment - but I'm always on the lookout for a great wallet, and can always bite on a pouch or wristlet. I might also fill one gap with something extra for weekends in blue or purple. Now it's all out in writing. It's only okay for me to jump on wallets and pouches, and I may consider a grey/blue/purple bag for weekends (waiting for my Luisa to arrive for possible future consideration). |

i have 8 bags and 6 clutches...Not as many as some of you here but for me, that is excessive. I've been going through the process of weeding out some of my former favorites but i have yet to properly trim my bags down to 5, which would be the ideal # for me.
