As to BE- why are you buying something if you don't really want it? Just b/c the AP is free? Why not wait and see if there is a BE sale coming up? Or buy the one on Bonanzle if you MUST have one. I love ya, M, but these sound like nutty purchases. I hope you don't take offense, being that this is the mindful thread and all. |

Elizat, you are always such a voice of reason.
NBL, on the BV cosmetic case, be strong. I was craving one for so long and almost bought one last weekend. Then I saw the Ignes sale and saw I can buy a leather bag with suede lining for that cost! That was a wake-up call. Plus, I was not even planning to use it as a cosmetic case - I was going to use it as an accessory to put in all the random little things in my bag. Elizat is right - actually using it as a make-up case is sad. I use those gift-with-purchase cases for my make-up. Everything seems to leak, spill and break (and most of the time, it is sitting on my bathroom counter - go figure) so I throw those out once the inside gets yucky. I would faint if I had to throw out a BV. I also agree with Elizat that you should not buy a bag you don't want (BE) to get a AP that you don't need. (Do you already have an AP?). Remember, you are trying to downsize your closet and save some money! The Ignes make-up cases are at an amazing price! Get those instead. You will probably use those a lot more than the BE bag and AP combined. |

Thanks elizat, you are as always the most sensible, and of course no offense taken, that is a mindful thread!
I keep obssesing with the black AP that I actually want, I know i will spend more money buying the hold me+ AP, but I am think about this like I will have a hold me for 120$ so I can use it on summer and not worry if the bag gets dirty. and it is my way of buying the AP without feeling silly for paying a lot of money when another girls are having it for free. I think the black APs wont be on the site on time for the sale as it is usually in july, and if they are on time, I think they will be out as they are a fall colour, so BE can sell them later. yes, the BV is too cute for a make up bag. I will use my Ignes instead. |

The Ignes makeup cases will be great to stick things in like: lotion that is unlikely to leak, tampons (except Matt), benadryl (allergies, so I always have it with me), hair brush. All the diddly stuff that bangs around in your bag and could fall out? Cute little make up bag that won't make you cry if it gets beat up. I also see the little pouches and makeup cases as a chance to have leathers that just aren't practical for me in a regular bag...green and orange and pink are what I was thinking I'd enjoy sometime.
But this is the mindful thread, so is that sufficiently mindful? |

Yes, it is mindful to purchase small leather goods at low prices to avoid larger leather goods at not so low prices! That's what I tell myself at least!

How is everyone doing? I broke my June shopping ban to buy an Ignes yesterday. But I've decided not to beat myself up about it. A red bag was one of the exceptions to my no-more-purses-this-year declaration. Plus, I was planning on a BV cosmetic case (not to use for actual cosmetics though - more as a tiny clutch) and I no longer want to buy one at all. When I saw I can buy an Ignes bag for virtually the same price, it knocked some sense into me. I will continue to be happy with my Coach wristlets for such needs since they do such a great job at a much better price point.
I think I am also making some headway in the purse purge attempt. I have not sold anything, but yesterday I wore my old Burberry bag since I had not worn that in a while. Wow, it has lasted a good number of years, but it looks really, really beat up. It is time to retire this one. Not sure what I will do with it though. |

I was able to resist the sale.
![]() Was very hard though. I didn't help myself by going to the Ignes site every day and pretend build a mini-o in glossy ink blue, or a mini-e in royal purple. Both with fuchsia suede lining of course. BUT, this thread is going to be very exciting when everyone's new creations start coming in, so I will find happiness in other's joy this time around. |

Irainei, you may want to consider saving buying a bag til after you push that baby out.
You won't be getting out as much, you may have a touch of post-partum, and it will be a sweet reward for motherhood. |

^ Good idea. I would hold off Raine.
Doing good. I realized I have not bought a bag since March. The Joe's Jeans sale was for my mother and a gift for an Aunt (hers was damaged and I have to send back). I have not bought anything for me since the start of March. I'm doing pretty good! |

Good idea FT! Let's just hope that there isn't a sale I can't resist ROFL (I managed to avoid the Summer Sale because my funds are tied up elsewhere...and because I convinced myself that buying a leather I only kinda wanted shouldn't be grounds for "it's OK it's on sale" reasoning).
As far as small goods...I agree, small goods are better in colors that you wouldn't normally use for a bigger bag. They add that extra OOMPH! ^_^ |
