Five bags seems about right for me too, Momo. But clutches count differently, right? Ugh.

My function post:
Ormomla is a work bag and doubles as an everyday bag. The Maxx New York, Via Spiga, Tano (is it on the list...yikes) and my Elliott Lucca (missed that too...yikes again), are everyday. Virginia was supposed to be every day but has turned into a work (light load day) bag. The rest are clutches to grab or to carry with work bags if necessary, or when I (read rarely) go anyplace out-ish. |

ooh, I love the categories and classification, too! Interesting to see how people view their bags and what their goals are.

I will do this very slowly, painfully and blushing beet red with shame at how profiligate my spending became this year. Please keep in mind that I am actively pursuing a relocation program. I am, however, also pursuing one perfect green purse and will settle for nothing less than that.
I will start with my keepers: The awards for... Best all around daytime tote/satchel/shoulder bag ..and the purple heart for wounded in action: Hands down, my HH KP Corcovado Best workhorse disguised as a glamour queen: Triple Tie Ignes Sophia Midi in Black/Bronze pebbled leather, BE cream Shimmer IYT HH Mercer Satchel in Goldrush Best im-purse-onation of female anatomy while functioning as a drop dead gorgeous not so basic black bag: HH Tharpe..black with black stitching that I added two Clyde tassels on whenver he needs to pass inspection at a high end restaurant. Best Bag that can hold papers, textbooks or clothing galore and can double as a sun reflector or SOS signal if I'm stranded in traffic or a desert island: HH Sonia Satchel in Anthracite Best Miniature Crossbody/Clutch Morphing Magician: HH Marcel in BZ trimmed with ICP/VCP and even GZ Best Shoulder/Clutch Blinging Zinger..plays well with others award: HH Lorca in Bronze Anaconda...mall...park..and wedding guest jeans to silk jersey. Best Buy..most Bang for My Bucks: Goldenbleu Tracy Clutch in Black Patent, Blush Patent and Carbon Patent. Best All around Camper: HH Gazas..Bittersweet and Taupe That's it for now..gotta go feed the ravaging hoards..or horaging ravs.. |

Newbaglover, are you planning to use your new BV beauties on a day-to-day basis, or are you reserving them for special occasions only?
I want to learn from your collection, in terms of color and function but also eventual uprades to "posher" brands. So, I went through and made some notes on your collection! Thought I would share it---I hope you don't mind. If you are planning to wear the BV a lot, then it does seem there are bags that are sort of replaced and upgraded by those new BVs, and it makes sense to thin it out, as you are planning. Bags (I count 20 handbags, not 33!) 1. - black: BV new ball, ostrich miniormala, black crash TME midi all of these black bags are classic and in three different styles, yet with a very cool edge....BV weave, ostrich on a structured mini-O, black crash = the coolest leather ever! It seems the black kooba ali is not as classic and maybe now superseded by the more classic and sophisticated TME midi? 2. -brown: TME midi (milk chocolate), josephine tinted choc (dark/hobo), emilia in sunflower (tan-caramel casual hobo), ebano campana (dark brown, correct? polished, sophisticated hobo) While I hate to see an Ignes go, it seems the ebano campana has upgraded the Josephine in tinted chocolate? That leaves you with two hobos (campana and Emilia = must-haves!) and the tme midi, plus you have dark choc, milk choc, and tan-caramel covered! 3. -red and wine: minisofia in tinted wine (essential leather and custom-made), persimmom nikki (must have a nikki and a redder color!), raspberry francis (doesn't count, it's a work bag!). Red/wine = complete! Do you like pink bags?? Mauve or fuchsia? 4. -green: MAM in evergreen (classic yet on trend, evergreen is a classic neutral) green is limited. Is this enough green for your wardrobe? 5. - metallic: pewter crash Love me mini, lupo abanico in metallics. both are fantastic! You wanted a smaller lupo, though? How are you liking the pewter crash? Are you finding it too metallic?? 6. - purple: purple love me mini, purple ostrich gabrielle. BE purple = one of the best purples ever; Gabby = perfection and custom-made. Two sizes and styles, so purple is covered nicely. 7. - blue: emilia in tinted blue, midisofia in silvery blue, cobalt love me midi. dark blue, almost navy = good / cobalt very fashionable = good Casual hobo and small-to-medium size more structured handbag = good midisofia = not needed? what about turquoise for summers? 8. - white: miniemilia with rolled handle in cream ( like a mixture between white and cream) Mr pudlles leather. Summer perfection!! clutches: 1. metallic (2) - silver and gold = covered! luka in silver /gunmetal (formal, metallic for parties? special occasion), ottone (gold) karung flap clutch coming home. [ooh!! wee!!] 2. casual red/wine - [not needed??] luka in raspberry (for stethscope??) 3. brown - 2, different looks and leathers ebano intagli baby veneta (the cutest bag ever!) [dark brown, handheld perfection] veronica max in choco ostrich - [dark chocolate, ostrich, custom-made, shoulder strap] 4. gray Bal anthra flat clutch (handheld, gray?) 5. black Black pleated baby veneta [ooh, what is the pleated?? HAndheld] special order MAC in black with silver HW [structured, formalish, shoulder strap, hopefully] black millie (casual and very cool with custom stud design! great for going to a bar or concert). [black/shoulder strap] 6. accessories - not really clutches, per se pewter AP (perfection; can be used as an accessory) choco crash AP (ditto) bal make up bag in praline (everyone needs a makeup bag), kiss me in purple - [[superseded by the bal makeup??]] This is the perfect collection. congratulations! You don't need anything else unless oyu feel the need for pink, fuchsia, greens, and turquoise. It will be a pleasure to encourage you to enjoy this and be mindful, lol! |

No Cute, for a while at least, you were doing the bag borrow or steal thang....how did that turn out, in terms of just borrowing certain styles without committing to them through buying? Is that something that would help with being mindful but getting to try new bags every once in a while??

^^It worked out well in terms of fickleness, but I got sick of the overlapping bags and weird shipping stuff.

Wow Euridice, you have studied hard my bag collection!
I am planning to use my BV as everyday bags ( that said unless it is raining...), If I use them just for special ocasions, they will be so much time lying in my wardrobe. I think I would like to keep just two black bags, but the option is letting go my beloved miniO, so it is not happening, too painfull... I dont worry about ali kooba, so I will keep 3 black bags. about browns, the josephine is a hobo that doesnt makes my hear beat, i dont know why, I have tried, but I have used it just once or twice, at the beginning. I am sure keeping the TMEmidi and I think the campana ( still have to see it IRL, but I think it will be love). About the sunflower emilia, I am not so sure, I want to keep it, as it is a gift from my mum and it is a great summery bag, beautiful colour, but I have thougth about letting it go in my decluttering passion, but after thinking a lot, I will give it a second chance, maybe I will use it a lot this summer! Wines: I agree, francis is a work bag, minisofia is very beautiful for winter and nikki is a summer red. I dont need pinks or fuschias, dont feel atracted by them. green: I keep the MAM because is a bag I like to stare at, but I dont use it, as it cant be shoulder carried. Love the colour though, like emerald, so beautiful. But it makes my RM collection fullfilled ( a nikki, a MAM and in the future a MAC). metallic: I prefer love me mini before the abanico lupo, I bougth this one because this design is the more coveted one,and it is really beautiful, but it is not so user friendly (I am so lazy). I love the leather though, but when I use a metallic, is the LMM. Purple: love BE purple. the gaby is more for proffessional use, and i use the francis for that, so my gaby doesnt get used at the end. But the purple ostrich is so beautiful and unique and the dark blue suede lining is so gorgeous, I cant part with this bag. Blue: realized the Love me midi is too big for me, so letting go the cobalt has been an easy decision. I will keep my winner emilia in tinted blue, with this one I have blue covered ( just perfect for casual and a little more dress up occasions) White: yes, for miniemilia summer perfection is the description! clutches: - would like to keep one handheld black ( baby veneta when it arrives) and one shoulder black (MAC). just the baby veneta in brown, the gold karung clutch, luka in silver / gunmetal ( love this clutch). This way I will have gold/silver/brown/black. Also I will keep the anthra clutch because I love it. It is quite painful to use it handheld, as it is quite big, but i am trying to get a leather shoulder strap to attach to this bag, so i can shoulder carry. About accesories: the two AP are keepers, I have a bespoke started for a black pebbled one, but rigth now dont know if I will continue with it ( they are giving free AP to all the ladies of the TME bespoke in this leather, so I am sure I wont be needed for the bespoke to be done). I feel quite strange seeing how a lot of girls will have theirs for free while I have to pay a lot of money for mine ( it is a beautiful but expensive little thing) , and all the elizat issues doesnt make me fell like giving Jackie my money rigth now. the bal make up bag is great shape, but a ligth colour, so i will give it a chance to be used, if I cannot fit it in my wardrobe, i will sell it and look for another one in another colour ( maybe pomme or raisin) . the kiss me in purple i like the letaher, but not the shape, I have discovered that BE for me is TME midi, love me mini and AP. the other bags doesnt appeal to me and the half circle shape is not of my liking. Yes, I have a balanced colection, even in my decluttering mode I can racionalize it, so I am afraid I will never be the kind of girl having just 4-6 great high end pieces, but more like 15 bags, 5 clutches and some accesories... |
