I wonder if he's had to add additional workers to handle the increased orders? Maybe that could be the source of some of these new problems.

Maybe since he's not there to do quality control, no one is stepping up to make sure all i's are dotted & t's crossed.

Hope he enjoys NYC, then hurries back to right the ship!

Lionlaw,
Sorry to here about the Ignes Chiara, but at least he does care enough that he did just ship it to you defective like Jimmy Choo.com would have!
And let you find whats wrong and send back to them.
Now as far as you being GOOD.........
That's about as funny as me on a buying BAN!
Which also like

But then again are you not expecting some company........
As far as poor Ignacio I sure wouldn't want to be him if SHIZZLE HITS THE FAN!

Lionlaw, I'm so sorry that happened! So frusterating when you keep waiting and waiting and then it's damaged. I agree with everyone who said it's better he found it then shipped you an inferior product only to have you be inconvenienced in shipping it back.

Lionlaw,

Sorry to hear about your Chiara. I love that bag so much and glad I have another one on order. It is worth the wait though and good that you do not have to receive the bag then find out about the problem.

The hole for the feet, has been one of the problems that I emailed Ignacio with photos of my mini Ormala- it is either too big that shown the feet or there are 2 cut lines or both. I sent him a whole list of things as a feedback. He emailed last night and informed me that he will need to discuss with his production team first when he gets back next Monday before giving me a full reply/information on return etc.

I did asked him if I could post about this and his initial response on a few issuess, but he has not got back to me on that.. But since this issue have been raised, I thought I would give some input too.

Hi Eniale: Ignacio has already been on the phone with his production manager on the feet after seeing my bag. Hopefully it will be resolved for you and me soon.

I never ask a manufacturer for permission to discuss anything. In my opinion, as long as what I am posting is true, I have no problem reporting on manufacturing issues. Its not disparagement if it is true and frankly, I don't want it happening to another tpf member. Out of respect for Ignacio I tried to keep my post as positive as possible, but I think the 7 week wait for the Chiara, the anticipation that is was finally here, and then the QC after transporting it around the world, has bummed me out.

I am waiting to hear what his solutions are. If it is waiting another 4-5 weeks, I don't know if I will wait or just get the money refunded.

Thanks Matt:

The mothership is landing Sunday!! God help me if Ignacio ships the replacement Chiara while she is here. That was one of the reasons I was so hoping the bag would be here this week.

Well, if that bag needs to be re-done, then it should totally be expedited, not wait the usual 4 weeks!! I can't imagine Ignacio would put you through another wait like that. I'm sure it would go into production right away, be checked over with a fine-tooth comb, then rushed to you.

It is kinda weird that Ignacio or someone didn't look at it closely before coming up here, but he was pretty busy and preoccupied getting ready to come here, I reckon.

Not sure what is going on. I am waiting to hear, but I think it may be a case that they have been slammed on orders so they hired new people and the new people are clueless?

Unfortuantely, I think Ignacio has relied on a production manager who hasn't paid enough qc to the products in Ignacio's absence. Three of the last three orders posted by tpf members (me, eniale and newbaglover) have had problems. I am hoping that Ignacio wips them back into shape.

Good help is so hard to find. I sympathize with him.

I sympathize as well, he's here trying to deal with things and make inroads for his company, and should be able to count on things to run in his absence. I'm just nervous---not to be totally self-centered---also because my stuff is supposed to come to me next week!!

Yea, all the waiting is another thing I dislike. Now I have 2 bags here with me that I have to wait until he gets back to me next week on what they/we can do about it. I am normally a impulsive buyer and when I want something I NEED to get it immediately. So waiting for so long, now the disappointment, and I can only look at those bags I am not happy with Good news that he is already working on the problems.

I was not really asking for permission to post really, but felt the emails he wrote was meant to be between me and him. Thought it would be polite to ask as I was thinking of just copy and paste his words. I have no problem posting and reporting the negatives issues as my intention was also to prevent this to happen again to any of us.

I have 3 more bags on order and actually planned another 2 bags already. Those are all currently on hold as if they can not provide a good resolution on how they can improve the quality, I might cancel some orders. Hope it would work out fine though. I might be spoiled by the good quality leather products with reasonable price here in Europe and for me, the mini Ormala and midi Sofia I received are not bags I would have paid for in that price if I have seen them in real life first.

I try to be understanding too.. but we already wait longer than usual. Their website is still showing that they will make to order and deliver within 3 weeks. That has not been the case. If waiting longer means a same quality bag is produced then yes it is worth the wait but that has not been the case for me either. I have paid for 6 bags in August and now I have one bag so far that I can use. I think they will start losing customers if they can not keep up.

Noticed that you also have a big order, are you having them all shipped together? I am planning to have them ship my other bags individually so they do not have to rush anything and hoping that way it is safer in transit too. I will pay for extra shipping costs of course.

Bummer on the QC issues. I'm sorry lionlaw. Very disappointing. And that it is the same issue Elaine had must have Ignacio in a fit...far away and wondering how those things happened. Guessing it will be fixed quickly and fairly.

Well, I don't know, I assume they will come together. Some will come the following week, I made changes to a couple of bags.

It's a bummer that you are going through this, and I think you definitely have been very patient and handled it very well. I think it's bad timing that Ignacio is in NY right now, and I'm sure he will straighten this out!!
