Hardware, etc. modifications after order receipt?

Hello, it's been too much time away here for me!!

I am just curious...have any of you asked for and received modifications to your bags after receiving them? I am specifically interested in modifications done to bags that aren't necessarily "faulty" in any way, shape or form, but that you realize aren't quite what you wanted.

To make a long story short: I do love the leather and design of the sunflower Emilia with gold HW that I recently received, but would prefer the bag with silver HW (I had originally ordered it with silver HW but Ignacio suggested the gold, so I changed my order). Also, the matching wristlet that they sent with the bag had silver HW, so I know for a fact that I prefer it.

I would like to have the hardware changed to silver, and contacted Maria about the possibility some days ago, but haven't received a response. Thinking that maybe the email got lost, I recontacted her today. (And I offered to pay for the switch as well).

So has anyone else done this? TIA for your responses!

I don't think anyone has done this though... It will be interesting to see what Maria says. My guess is the studs on the pocket will cause the most trouble w/ that.

I ordered a Veronica just like Jane*Bond's but when I went to confirm I just was like, I'll take it!! And I didn't realize I didn't explicitly spell out the gold hardware. Since we were referring to Jane's I guess I didn't realize. So, they put SILVER HW on it. I would prefer the gold but don't have the heart to send it back. Which I have the option to do.

I was thinking of proposing to Ignacio to just change the hardware on the outside but not the inside. He told me when I asked about changing it completely: "but in any case changing the hardware on it would not have been doable."

So, I'm pretty sure that they can't take the same bag and change the hardware. Now, maybe they are looking into it in response to your request; maybe there is something different about the Veronica and the Emilia. Since Ignacio suggested that hardware, I know he would be happy to exchange and do one with silver for you.

Well, I guess that for me it depends on how much it would cost to get the HW changed, if it's even an option. I have the sense that it would be pretty pricey. And I don't want to suggest that Ignacio is at "fault" (for lack of a better way of putting it -- because it's not really anyone's error but mine!)

I do love the bag, I just don't use it because it's not what I wanted in the end...hmmmmmmm....I think that if another small bag that I have up for sale sells, I will use that money to alter the Ignes if it's possible. Or I may just wait to see if it grows on me!
