Dsrk: Everything worked out perfectly! FedEx didn't mention a THING about fee's when I called the back the next day and thanks to your help, I filled out the form, scanned it, and emailed it to them and received my bag today! I did a reveal!

Just need to vent a bit from the awful DHL guy, who delivered my Dark Purple Salina. I had to pay customs in spite of the fact it had been a trip to UK and had UK tape all over it..645 Danish kroner..around $130.
So what now? Do you all also pay taxes and duty fees? I got the impression that the bags were clear from this..or did this policy change?? At least I was sure that no taxes were put on the bags , since there was a stopover in UK!

Bonnie, you had to pay $130 for a bag that cost only $300-400? That's crazy! Is there no way to dispute that with DHL since you mention it had UK tape on it? I'd be complaining to someone!

I don't believe I've ever paid any fees on Ignes bags. That's one more thing to add to the list of why I love them!

Well, I got 30% off the Salina, and the taxes with fees run up to around 45%, so, yes, I paid simply to avoid DHL to promptly ship it back!
I've just been on the phone with DHL, because I could see that Ignes had prepaid a duty fee..but OMG was this girl on the phone rude! I asked from which amount DHL had calculated the fees from..and the reply was that it was none of my business, because their intern tax department always calculated correctly..I just went WTF!!
So to avoid that I went bananas..and believe me that is not funny, when this happens..I wrote Maria for some directions.
Cheeky company!!

Bonnie, I never had that problem at all. I don't know if duties are included for non US customers, but they are for US customers.

Maybe check w/ Ignes and see if they did pre-pay duties as well? I see that they include VAT for inside the UK, so it maybe a good question to ask.

I would contact DHL as well, like TL suggested. That is insane.

Wow! Great way to treat a customer! I'm sure Maria would be interested in this. I wouldn't use DHL as a courier if I as a business owner knew that they were rude to my customers. These types of things keep customers from coming back.

On the invoice it does look like Ignes prepaid the fees, but DHL wouldn't regognize this at all..so just to avoid the bag sent back, I paid!

Bonnie, looks like Maria might be online now so I'd go chat with her and share what happened. Sounds like Ignes should take this up with DHL. It isn't right for them to double charge like they are and Ignes should address it.

ETA: I'm so sorry, Bonnie! You aren't having much luck right now between DHL and Moneybookers! I paid my deposit on the MG KMC bespoke and am waiting to see if Moneybookers messes up my order! I hope this gets sorted out for you.

I'm outside the US, and I haven't had to pay duties on any Ignes purchases. Granted, when I received my first bag from them, it was shipped via FedEx, not DHL. Ignes does pre-pay the taxes even for non-US orders, as far as I can tell, so it looks like it could be DHL being screwy. I'm currently expecting a shipment from Ignes as well, so I'll update as to whether or not DHL imposes any extra duties on it. There's definitely no reason why DHL isn't recognising the fact that Ignes pre-paid the taxes already!
