ostrich sample colours
as this are samples, not bags, I have not post in colours library. If you think it may be more useful to have it there, please feel free to move this post, ok?

As I have converted to a ostrich fan, and preparing for all US girls waiting for their moment to start making their ostrich bags, I tougth I should make pics of the actual ostrich colours.

I dont have the names writen in the pages, but they are easily recognizable.

silver

copper

gunmetal

bronze

"Smooshy" leathers available as of December 2008:

I will post these is the swatch thread as well, but here are some pics. It is kind of cloudy today but I tried to get them as close as possible to RL. For some reason the green still does not look quite as green as in real life, but the rest came out pretty well.

Pics were taken outside, cloudy but still moderately bright out. Top row is very dark espresso brown (189) and that cognac (190), bottom row is the forest green (188), dark purple (187), and pebbled french vanilla (191).

green and purple:

espresso and cognac:

purple and french vanilla:

Probably the least supple of the bunch is the 191 (pebbled vanilla), but on a bag rather than a swatch that might be different.

This leather does scratch easily but it just looks better-a lighter shade of the leather!

This is NOT part of SS 09, I had it some months ago, but is a true cobalt, and it is a colour I LOVE (it just have a shine, not so much as the pic, it is difficult to make it in pics). But this leather is not slouchy, quiet rigid ( good for structured models)

Black Diamond, Patterned Light Grey (lining), Fushia (lining)

Impressions
Glossy Ink Blue- relatively thick, dark metallic blue. In indoor lighting, the color would read a glossy dark blue. In the sun, it shimmers. SO PRETTY!
Shimmer charcoal w/streaks- Thick, has texture to it. To me, it seems to have a little hint of gold somewhere, depending on the light.
Cobalt Blue- A little on the thin side. Not an intense blue (like how you would think a cobalt is). Very hard color to describe and capture
Acqua- Thin, more of a dark seafoam color than an aqua.
Teal- Pebbled, definitely a dark muted teal.
Black Diamond- Fairly thick like the glossy ink blue. Looks like black with a light pearlized coating on top, not quite grey, but not quite black either. I think if you had black nappa and this together, the black diamond would look like a really dark gunmetal.

The darker colors are off in the pictures.

The left hand purple is "fairly light, soft" "smooth yet quite 'veiny'"

The others are a light metallic and a patent purple. This metallic is not the same purple with silver sheen that bags4fun got in her midi sofia. that one is no longer available.

the blue is #705, which is structured cobalt that seems bolder than the cobalt offered in the Ignes spring palette. I am getting that one in a Carla, and newbaglover has it in a wristlet.
