the before pic I just posted of the floor and wall is the gross carpet with the old flaking off paint. it almost looks like water damage caused the paint to come off but it's nowhere near any pipes or water lol. it's just old and had to go. I sanded it all back to get it smooth and to remove any old paint that would stop the new paint from holding then I washed the walls down with sugarsoap to clean off all the dust before painting the primer and finally the top coat.
we replaced all the carpet downstairs with white wash bamboo flooring. it's just wooden flooring but the bamboo is stronger and better for the environment. I'll post another pic of more floor in a sec to show how it looks.
thank you. it's actually not very popular tho. the guy we got to do it said we are the first to pick this colour. every job he does is for a brown natural wood look. kwim?? then when we went to see him the day before they put it in he said someone just ordered it in the black. another first for him. we put the black sample piece next to our white one and thought it would be cool if someone did it striped lol. he's sure if it ever happens to let me know as I would love to see lol. it wasn't cheap. it was about 3G the price of putting carpet down because they have to level the floor so it's smooth and put in the skirting boards but I love it so much it was def worth it. it has been out for a few years but is still not as well known as normal wooden flooring.
