Are you sure it's you killing the plants? Do you have a tricky climate?

I've been planting and tending as hobby with my parents since I was a little girl and it dates back to my grandparents and anscestors... everyone like to garden.
yea i'm pretty sure..the herbs always grow really nicely but once i start clipping them to use for cooking, they die. i'm not sure, maybe they didn't get enough sunlight. i lived on a northern exposure and didn't get direct sunlight..maybe i'll try again.

a question --- i have a whole row of hostas in my garden that i want to....reduce...i much prefer hydrangeas and want to put them in that spot....the thing about hostas is that i kept digging them up, but those darn things keep coming back!

if i dig them up right now (they just started growing -- even though i thought i pulled everything out last fall..grrr) and replanted the hydrangeas, will i end up with the hostas strangling the other?

^^ I don't know anything about plants so I'm no help so this is a silly question but just checking you are taking out the roots not just the plant on the surface??

The hostas shouldn't come back if you get everything. I would take my shovel and start about 4 in from plant, and dig down at least 6 in to get everything.

thanks ladies... i think when i dug them up, there were already some that were mown over, and i didn't see them. so the ones that i dug up were done and over with, but the others sprouted again...it just feels like they are multiplying! gah!

Not sure. I try to check every couple of days. Momma is quite tolerant of me being in the shed.

There's another nest also --- inside a toolbox, so I can't get many of my yard tools out. Can't see that one from the network camera though.

Here's one from a few days ago showing Momma sitting on the nest. It was hot, so she had her mouth open quite a bit.
