I need a place for my laptop and printer and to organize bills, etc. The only logical place in my house is in my living room so I want an attractive one. Any ideas where to look?

It might help to know what you consider attractive. What styles do you like?

If it's going in the living room only because it has to (not because you really want it to) then I would suggest an armoire - an enclosed cabinet. It will hide all the computer stuff and papers when it's closed

If you want some ideas I really like http://www.homedecorators.com (they have great sales/clearance section) and especially like http://www.csnstores.com (recently rebranded to http://www.wayfair.com).

I got a relatively cheap one from csn many years ago and it's great - pic @ http://www.wayfair.com/popups/media_...hp?sku=SAU1078

I bought my daughter the Martha Steward green craft desk from http://www.homedecoratorscollection.com. It is wonderful. The size is larger (longer) and the height is taller. I think it came in a lower height too but not sure. I also bought her the matching desk hutch accessories. I think it had matching files that could go under the desk. The price was under $300.00 on sale I think. I love this desk but you had to put it together which was OK. For myself I bought a $900.00++ Pottery Barn white corner desk with file cabnets on both sides. It is beautiful and functional. I have it in my living room but I love my daughter's desk more and wish I bought one for me. I even tried to get my daughter to trade desks and she refused to do it.

I love this piece. As you can see from the various pictures, its really versatile. I love the wood top with the metal legs. It's simple and delicate yet has some edge.

Antiquey, industrial...and still has a warmth about it. Maybe because it's a wood table wrapped in metal. So cool!

I would look at CB2 and West Elm.

^^^ ITA!

Here is my DH's parson's from West Elm.

It has 2 drawers for the important stuff and a place for the laptop / ipad.
We have the printer hooked up downstairs in the office and it will print wireless, so we don't have to put up with the printer in our formal living room.

^I really like the Parson's desk from West Elm. It's a nice sleek, simple style that won't stand out too much in your living room. And it has the 2 drawers to hold stuff. If you don't have a ton of room, they also have a smaller version that's only 1 drawer. It usually comes in a few different colours too (and without the glass top).
