I always had orchids when I lived in Florida. I love them and wish we could grow them up here but they will never last.
Stunning pictures.

I've had two, the first one my grandmother killed by pulling on it and asking me if it was real. I'm currently on my second and it's blooming beautifully, I don't have a picture on hand. The one I have now is white, would really love to have a bright blue one but they sold out of them locally and I haven't been able to find one since.

Those are gorgeous! Thank you for sharing!

I love orchids, but I did not have the right spot in terms of light for them in my last house, and killed a bunch of them, which scared me off of orchids for a while- but, in my new house, I have several south and east facing windows with large sills that they seem to love, and they're actually growing and doing well! Maybe I can now clean up my orchid karma from all the poor plants I killed before....I even gave them their own humidifier for their corner of my living room.

I told my husband one of these days, I'm going to save enough to build a conservatory addition on the back of my house, and I will turn it into a greenhouse full of orchids.

^ You are absolutely right, the smell in the auditorium where they had the juried displays was amazing, blends of all the different orchids. My DH could not get over the aroma.

^The Private Gardens Tour I took two weekends ago included a gorgeous garden and a conservatory attached to the back of house which opened to the family/kitchen/terrace area, it was gorgeous with a waterfeature with blue fish. coral rock walls, full of moss and plants, and all kinds of rare ferns, orchids and tropical plants. No Stress in that Conservatory it all melts at the door.

Oh how beautiful! My dad adorned the house with orchids when I was getting married. Seeing your pics remind me briefly of those happy days. I can't wait for mine to bloom again!
