VB, this is beautiful!! From reading your detailed description and looking at it with fresh eyes, I can totally relate to it when you say the leather work appears to have a 3D effect, on the tied pic, some of the hardware as you say almost seems to shine out of the design!! Fabulous!!
The c/w is just TDF!!! I have seen it in the natural, and while its very beautiful its not quite captured me like this one has!! Thank you for posting!!!!

Hi VB - LOVE your coaching....raspberries and cream! There is a lovely 3-D aspect to the shawl. I was lucky enough to find an original issue 90cm (I think Dreamdoll) did too........

Thanks for showing her tied! I gravitate to it as more of a caual scarf as the pattern is quite open.

VickyB - coaching
one design i really luv yet the c/w doesnt sing to me. Everytime i thought this is the one but disappt irl. I know there will be one c/w that will sing opera to me. I love how the line flows when knot or tie.

coaching

I must confess that I haven’t been that thrilled with the scarf and shawl designs this season or last BUT there are a few that I really liked the more I looked at them and this is one of them. This is a cool design but what really sold me is that she looks fab tied in any way you can imagine. There is also a great 3D element at play - does anybody else get that vibe ? The leather detailing is marvelous – it looks so real! The braiding is off the charts, and the leather looks sooo supple especially in the center design where it is looped over itself - it almost jumps off the shawl. It is also so cool that all the leather bits are connected in the design but for in one corner(lower left). The hard ware is lovely as well. On the color side of things, they are much more muted and richer in real life than in the snap. The background is a medium to dark oatmeal .The leathers are lovely chestnut brown, the hard ware is a deep dark silver almost grey. This is not a garish color way which is how it comes across a bit in the photo. I got her in the spring and have yet to take her out for a spin BUT it will be soon! Hope you like her too and great detail shots to follow! Hopefully some of them capture the true colors at play here!
This colorway is gorgeous, Vicky, and like LGA, I'm now questioning my colorway choice in this one! Who said it looks like raspberries and cream? (it was the lovely bagmoma!) Well, it's a prefect description.

And, I certainly agree with you, the design and the almost trompe l'oeil effect of the leathers is amazing.

I truly thought this re-issued design was the only highlight of a pretty disappointing last couple of seasons. But, oh my, I'm definitely not thrilled with spring summer 2010 either! Just be happy that you already have a huge collection, including all of Hermes' best from the past.

VB, it's a real lovely shawl. I'm not a coaching fan, but the way you've described it really makes me want to dance with joy. congrats!

Vicky you have chosen such a lovely cw for the Coaching shawl - love the raspberry and cream description (alas the cw didn't love me back). I was not a fan of the design initially but have since fallen deeply for it! Love your write-up about the pattern! Ended up with the violine cw which suited me better (and thanks to a lovely friend who brought it back for me!). Yay to being Coaching cousins!!

How very true Sam!! It's very H yet decidedly modern!

You all are the BESTEST!!! s :

LGA – hi! Thank you for the compliments and kit cat ‘s patience only goes so far!! I’ve seem the color way you have I person and it is just lovely!!

DreamDoll – thanks and congrats on your 90 cm!!!!

Chaz – hello and thanks, you are such a doll! Ooops, I’m going to get in trouble now with KenDolly – you know how he likes to be Top Doll! I just love this color way too BUT what I really need to do is get some snaps that show the colors accurately b/c these 2 don’t – actually the “tie” snap shows the true colors better but still not close to accurately.

MT - hello sweets and thanks! Love and ITA w/ your teeny words , – so understated, my dear! I’m really anxious for a good design season feels like it has been a long time coming but I am very skeptical about the spring summer BUT the glass is ½ full so I’m hoping that in person they will be lovely.

Bagmoma – hi! Thanks - we are scarf/shawl cousins!!!! Congrats on your 90 cm! Love the raspberries and cream image – just lovely and yummy!!! I fear that when you see the real colors of this baby you’ll not like her any more! ITA with your comment about the open design being more casual – I’ve never considered that before - thanks!! I’ll do more tie shots after I post the detail snaps.

Robee - I know , that’s how I felt too!! I liked the design , had a really hard time with the color ways offered but then this one really grew on me and I just love it now – plus it is very different from the other shawls I have.

Lily – well, hello, cousin!! Thanks for your kind words!! ITA on your take of recent past and present. We can always direct our attention to reissues which , I have to say , I can totally go for if I like the color way and design – why the heck not, right? A girl’s gotta be practical!!

Jadeite – thank you so much – keep dancing with much joy!

Ms Piggy – So great to have you here, cousin!!!!!! Gosh, from all that has been posted today it really seems that coaching was not a “love at 1st sight” design – I thought that I was the only one to have felt that way!! Your color way is dreamy!

LQYB – thank you!!

Provcoll – so great to see you!!!! Thank you so much for your sweet words dedicating time (lots of time!) to review the last 50 posts!!! Happy you like me as the H mummy – it was totally fun to put together!!!

Came here for a peek after catching up on MT's thread. Thought Ken-doll might have made an appearance striking his pose. Did MT and dreamdoll scare him away?

Ms.P -- same here...until I saw VB's raspberries/cream version and followed along w/ her narrative.

violine sounds lovely too. can't wait to see another perfect Ms.P outfit in H It Up, when the time comes.
