Well he's not wrong as the design is based on dog collars from way back. However, to answer your original question, as already suggested a Rivale may be more suitable for her age, would look good in a stack too.

I don't really think the issue is the price, moreso that it isn't quite an 'innocent' and 'delicate' look. it is a bit too 'hardcore' for a 12 year old! i'd opt for getting her a delicate cartier necklace or bracelet before a CDC.. even if it is just borrowing it. maybe wait until she is a little older.

In the meantime she'll learn the quality not quantity law.
Totally agree about quality NOT quantity.

maybe you could buy rivale for your DD, it's more of her age imho.
When you have daughter, somehow she will copy you. Like my DD, she's 4 yo. When she see me with my Hapi double tour, she wants to borrow so I let her borrow for like 15 minutes for now still bracelet, but in 5 years maybe bags

here's my DD with my Hapi DT

I got an H bracelet, Kelly, and a H scarf when I was 11 and on a WE trip to Paris with my parents, my Father is a big H lover and treated his daughter and wife to small gifts, though I was way too young to grasp the real value, I still loved the bracelet and wore it a lot. It didn't turn me in to a spoilt young lady. You can decide if and how you give her that bracelet and she will understand the value.

That is fascinating. What size & color Kelly? Where did you carry it? What was the scarf? Did you start using them then or grow into them?

I was a simple Kelly bracelet, (not the bag!!) I used it all the time, the scarf was classic silk Carré with horse motive. I still remember the thrill of going in to this beautiful store. I started acquiring my own bags and scarfs as an adult, but H has always been a love of my Fathers, and he taught us the beauty of craftsmanship and quality.

IMHO she is a bit too young for a CDC, but I agree with others on letting hear borrow it for special occasions. But you know your daughter better than anyone else, I think you know what's best for her. :) She's a lucky girl.
