OMG, that is Verona Feldbusch Pooth - NOT exactly a socialite but "famous" and probably unknown outside of Germany (we get German TV here... truly programming from Hell!) Anyone else here ever heard of her?

I agree. That platform, while making extremely high heels easier to walk in, is just way too much. It falls over the chic edge and tumbles into ugly. *IMO* (Sorry to be OT)

ITA with Duna and others about the YSLs and super-platforms in general. I blame Rachel Zoe

Short girls believe it makes them look taller - it just makes them look like short girls in clumpy shoes. VB is another victim. Just wear a normal 90/100mm heel to lengthen the leg. Hidden platforms only make shoes look heavy and draw attention down to the ground not upward to lengthen your overall line.
