Unfortunately this is true. She used to be my co worker. I know some of the victims too. So sad to hear their stories; betrayal.

This woman's criminal activities had nothing to do with passion for any brand. It had to do with greed, narcissism, and a sociopathic personality that rendered her incapable of caring about the damage her behavior caused to others. It is a great shame that people are so desperate for a Birkin that they become prey to scammers like this. Another reminder that if anything seems too good to be true, it almost certainly is.

No, I do not think she did. Most of her victims are the wealthy people from the Philippines. And some are still working overseas for the same airline where the scammer used to work. I spoke to one of her victims, who invested $260k out of her own savings. Now, she is in and out of the hospital because of hypertension and is being sued by other people who gave money through her. It was like a pyramid. Even if a case is officially filed against the scammer; she fled to the US last February with her entire family. According to the newspaper, she ran away with $15M - (high end bags, jewelry and art investment). The victims are still in disbelief so to speak.

it is very sad indeed...it serves as a reminder that "everything in moderation". when one becomes obsessive over something...one thing will lead to another...and by the time that one realizes, it's too late already.

The women mentioned is not just a addict to Hermes. She is an addict to designer brands and a lifestyle that she couldn't achieve. It is sad that many people in Asia feel the pressure to keep up with friends and acquaintances on their life style. They thought by displaying a certain life style that it would help them climb higher on the social ladder and in turn fund more luxuries.

She was your coworker? She saw an opportunity to swindle and people fell on her trap. What a shame...
