I have to say that I love matte croc birkin a little bit more than shiny. And especially matte croc that is lined with toile which makes it softer and nicer. My matte anthracite that I bought in 2002 came with toile lining but when I special ordered the Matte havanne with white stitching, which I received in 2004, unexpectedly it came out with chevre lining. I guess since around that time H changed the lining on Matte croc. My SA told me that if I want a toile lining now, it has to be a special order. Whitebirkin, you bag will be so gorgeous and I am so happy for you darling.

hermes drooler: you're such a sweetheart! Your mom has one in HAC too? Ooooh, I want to see it! You definitely should post its pics then! I didn't think about it at first, but yes, actually you're right. The A/W collection has already started to come in, and it seems like a good color to wear for the cooler seasons (although where I live, the seasons are pretty much the same all year long--hot and humid).

Plum Blossom: :)) The reason it's not shipped directly to me, is because where I live, the mailing system is not really good (not safe either). So it's better to ship it to the nearby Singapore.

pazt and ILML: that's so cool that you have a croco lined with toile too! Is it really different than the ones with chevre lining? Is it much, much softer and floppier? Does it make the bag much more casual? (Sorry for the many questions... am excited, can't you tell?)

For me, toile lining is much different than the ones with chevre. It's much softer and floppier, just right!!! And it makes the bag looks more casual, it's perfect!!! I am so in love with toile lining on Matte croc. That's why when I wanted the rouge H matte last year, I had to beg to buy the old version which is hardly used from my friend's collection and I gave her lots of profit for it. The old color is much nicer for me than the new rouge H matte that I got offered also. Please let me know how you like it when you get it sweetie.

ILML: thank you for the info! When I was deciding on whether or not I should buy the bag, I was thinking that not only I do not have a 35cm matte croco, but I think it's a good size to have in toile lining. I know what you mean when you said you prefer matte croc birkin rather than the shiny ones. My 35cm shiny black and 35cm shiny miel can seem a bit intimidating sometimes. It's so in your face, if you know what I mean... :) So I think this new baby would be a good addition to the family. It'll be the subtle and quiet one, I suppose.

Is your 30cm matte rouge H also lined with toile? I know that your matte vert olive kelly does.

You certainly could feel my pain, Queenie! Seriously counting by the minutes now!!!
I'd love to meet up, but I'm only going to be there for two days, and have got tons of doc's appointments... so let me check my schedule first and see if the time permits. Will let you know, my dear.

WB - I am so looking forward to seeing this bag. I was going to SO a toile lined matte croc Birkin (I love the floopy croc) but Paris wouldn't do it last time I asked

So it's a rare one - well done you

Oh Handybags, thank you, thank you, thank you! It's good to know I've gotten myself a rare bag!

But why did they refuse your order for a toile lining? Do they still produce it or not at all? And if they don't, I wonder why, since it seems a lot of people like it

They used to always do it for matte. Then it was SO only and when I asked last it was just a no - but H works in myterious ways so who knows. I then decided on the Lindy in the souple nilo to get my squashy croc fix. It wouldn't surprise me if they started to do it again though - particularly for 35s so much lighter.
