So, as some of you know, I purchased a 35 Victoria in Cafe Clemence on Monday. I was looking over it last night, enjoying its mysterious, when I found a loose thread! It's on the outside, on the flap at the end of the zipper. I don't know what to do. It could be where the craftsman finished off? I don't know. I haven't been abusing the bag, so I know I didn't actually rip it. I know that the saddle stitch is such that if one stitch tears the other stay in place, but I don't know, should I take it back to Hermes tomorrow and tell them? Opinions? Take a look at the pics! Everything about it is so exquisite that I just want to make sure it's perfect. Look how well the bag photographs besides the snag! :)

Is it staying in place or is it coming off? If the former, I would just leave it. Otherwise, pop back into your H store to have the bag restitched.

Thank you so much for getting back to me! I noticed it last night, so it hasn't even been 24 hours yet. It appears to be staying in place. I see at the end of the day if it has grown or not. Thank you so much mrssparkles! If it seems to have grown by tomorrow, it's goin' straight back to Hermes.

Philip, I would take it back to H and see if they can snip it. It appears to be just a remnant, not a loose thread, but I could be mistaken. I own a little boutique and find threads that haven't been snipped properly all the time. If you want, you could probably just use a tiny scissor and snip it yourself.

No big deal!

Please don't snip it. If you snip it too close, the thread may run. When I first received my Lindy, I did notice a little thread end (it was a tad shorter than the thread shown above). Although I had left it alone, the stitching became undone, and I had to take it back to my store to have that part restitched.

Should I wait another week? Or do you think there is someone there who might be able to take a look at it? Thanks Ranag! :)

Are the craftsmen back in France for a meeting or something? My local craftman Frank is also not around for a week.

Philip - when we were at the BH store last weekend, they told us that Manuela was going to Paris for a couple of weeks. I think she left on Sunday? In any event, I would call and see if she really has left yet, and if she has when she will be back. She will also be gone for a little while to another state. She is going to refurbish - now get this - an entire library that was done in Hermes leather in the 1920's or 1930's in someone's private residence. Can you imagine that! I would so love to see it!

Cool. I'll call in an hour when they open and sort it out! Wait, that is amazing about the personal library! How do you refurbish a whole library!? I cannot imagine! That's totally your next step Ranag! Hahaha. I'm thinking of picking up a globetrotter in box calf and an elephant lock when I take my Victoria in! So much stuff! I am going to have to start saving money again soon! HAHAHA. Thanks for the help!
