swonderful Actually Eulalia is not my real name but I have always been called that and I really like that name.
LuvBirkin Thank you for your kind words. Luckily I already have some H goodies so I´m not totally H-less. And right now it looks like I can buy a bag after all. I just have to wait a few months.

^^ good to hear, Eulalia. Maybe if there's a May of June meet you can join as well, regardless of your bag situation, just to brighten things up
.

igh:: I'm not known for my patience. Can anyone pass along their tips for staying patient while waiting for their dream bag/hoping for a lucky hit on eBay/trying to get on the waiting list? Serves me right for wanting a dream bag with less-than-popular specs.

Hi everyone!
I mostly lurk in the Hermes subsection and thought that I would and say hello! I would like to join the other "ladies in waiting" in this lovely thread. I've been lusting after a Birkin for a really long time, but can't justify spending that amount on a handbag. My FI and I are getting married this year and hoping to buy our first house together. I guess the current state of the housing market is good for first-time buyers like us, but the DC area is so expensive. Anyway, I digress.... I'm been saving into my "Hermes" account every month, but at the rate I'm going and with the price increases, I think I will be waiting for a really long time. I've actually toyed with the idea of selling my entire handbag collection to fund my dream Birkin, but I think the pratical side of me overruled that scheme. My FI just shakes his head because he is incredibly frugal and does not understand my handbag obsession. So, hello everyone, and I'm happy to wait with all of you! |

Welcome, SuLi!
I can't even justify a Picotin (or the shawl that I'm dying to buy) right now, so I totally understand. Maybe if you get a super fantastic deal on your house?! That seems to be possible these days... Thanks for waiting with us

kenzie, I can't speak for anyone else...but I'm really not
good with being patient. But having to be patient certainly helps with the learning of delaying instant gratification. Coming here (on the whole board itself) and talking to everyone actually helps. I also get inspiration from the many reveal threads. And I believe that someday (even if it takes a LOOOONG time) it will be my turn to have a big orange box reveal. :) |

Well, I set up a separate savings account just for buying H goodies. I'm planning to put $5 in it for every 30 minutes I exercise and also sock away extra money when I get it. It will be fun seeing that balance grow (while my body gets smaller, I hope!).
Both will take lots of patience! |
