Howdy to all!!

Have been dropping in and out over the past few weeks, leaving a comment here and there. Since this is the one thread where I read EVERY post, I'll check back in later this weekend when I have time. YOU GUYS ROCK THE PARTY!!!!

allanrvj - Read you are heading to Paris and are feeling nervous abot being a clumsy dude at FSH. Ran across this picture this morning and decided to post it just for you. The woman with the oversized rainjacket walking across the street is me. I am walking w/ all the purpose in the world to the George V store. I was tired (serious jet lag at this point and the store is so discreet we walked by it the first tme), hungry, looking a bit raggedy (all the winter clothes I had bought in September/October were too big by March), and after visiting FSH, Longchamp (2 boutiques), Lancel, Louis Vuitton (2 boutiques), and a few other labels, DH was starting to complain. But I walked right on in there. While the staff was not that friendly (thanks to tPF I knew they pretty much treated everyone that way) I had a great time looking at scarves, agendas, and a few handbags. So if I can do it you can do it too. Enjoy it!!! With all the knowledge of and love for the brand, you deserve it.

BTW, to celebrate my victory I treated myself to some lovely Laduree macarons from the Champs Elysee salon.

Hi, Valencia, it sounds like you and DH had a good time in Paris. :)

I have to admit, I pay attention to all SA stories. When I read
the nice ones, they make feel at ease, but then when I read
the rude ones, I think -- uh-oh. They're going to treat me
badly.

That is why I'm not going into my Alaska in what I'll
call the 4 scarves + 1 agenda "rule". (I might buy other things),
if I can afford the cost of those items in one trip, then
I know I can plan my first visit (all H stores are at least 2 hours or
more away from me), if all I can walk in for is a bottle of
perfume, I can just do that online from home.

OR if I really get nervous on what kind of SA treatment I'll be
receiving, I'll just keep saving until I can afford the Bolide. :)

Thanks, Valencia. I hope I have a nice time there, even if I'll just be buying a credit card holder and hopefully, place my special order for my dream bag. I hope they let me put it, because my entire 4-day trip would be ruined if I don't get to place a special order.

I heard the shop just went corporate, I hope

candy, you can still buy a twilly online.
Good luck!
Hi Kelly_Birkin

BlueGenes, Thanks. :)
I'm thinking I might be able to do a little pre-graduation
reveal (sssh). I'll know more soon.

Jewelweed, Congrats on your goodies. :)
You misunderstood my post. I wish I could
go to my Alaska right now. I was just saying
the total amount I would feel comfortable in spending
before I walked in. So I devised, a 3 scarf + 1 agenda
"rule", if I could afford those things without any problems,
then I know I can go inside the boutique. If H was
local to me, I might go in for a bottle of perfume, or what-not,
but this would be a daytrip to me, so that's another cost
on top of the shopping. Maybe, I can plan for or even
wait for November when the stores decorate for the holidays,
and then plan a holiday shopping trip....you just inspired me! :)

Hi everyone -
Decided to join the waiting pool. After going on a little H. binge, I need to cool my jets for a while - but my want list is far from being complete!

Valencia - love the photo you posted above! Allanrvj - have a great time in Paris! (remember The Secret!)

FWIW, my experience with SAs is if you are polite and interested they usually are, too.

Thanks, Florasun. :)

I think it's one of those things where you can read all of
the good reviews and all of the negative reviews, but
you really need to have your own experiences. :) I hope
I'll have good SA story to share when it's time. :)

I'm in a dilemma right now since my partner and I are going to New York in August and I was really thinking of getting this bag. That is, if I come up with the money. Even if I had the money (which I don't) all this wait is making me think whether I should or shouldn't get the bag. We live comfortably but we're not rich so any of the H items I dream of, I have to save up for it. In all reality, I probably would be able to afford a nice agenda or notebook and other smaller items but that's pretty much it. Add to this, the looming price increase in August will probably price me out.

I also dream of getting the beautiful H blanket, just the wool and cashmere though. Not the one where they use the fur of specially bred French rabbits which costs around $30,000!

Aaahhh, it's always nice to dream...
Yes, sometimes you have to start small to scratch the itch. You have listed some nice items, but you could also try a belt, watch, wallet, etc. Have you seen this thread and others from KallieGirl? Lots of cute bijoux: From my SA - Leather, Horse, Men's Acc. + Rosy Bearn

Ali - I don't know how old you are, but I'm on up there, and I finally bought my first Hermes last year after knowing about it for years. At first I thought like you, but if I had just set aside a small amount of money each year, I would have had one years ago. Don't let your dreams get side-tracked, my dear. Go for it, even if it takes a while.

So I went to Hermes on Saturday determined to buy a Lindy as all of you suggested. I do have one SA I like to buy from but she was busy so I decided to speak to someone else. He showed me a 30cm and a 34cm Lindy. 30cm being 5100 and 34cm being 5400. He laughed telling me how I would have to pay $400 more for 4cm. Well I tried on the 34cm in graphite with palladium but then I was reminded by the other SA I like that I had bought the birkin in graphite. soooo I decided against it. Boo Hoo .
I saw the traveler Lindy in 45cm in cafe color??? is it to big to carry that one. I actually like big bags but then that bag is so big it look like a gym bag. I wish they made a 40cm in etoupe. I would buy it in a heart beat.

I told them I would be interested in a 2 tone Lindy in etroupe and gris troutorelle but I guess we will see. I still dream of having the traveler in entroupe.
