thanks everyone!! i really felt bad at the beginning.. someone even told me i should be ashamed because one birkin already costs half of a car! oh well....
It was meant to be.. someone else snatched up the tabac while i was deciding... so I ended but with a 25cm rouge garrance with phw... i had originally wanted gold but that's fine!!

Hi, ladies & gents! I took the plunge and bought a new-to-me 28 sellier box kelly. I think it's 1993 and it should arrive in the next few days or so. It will be my first H bag! I am very excited--I have spent over a year drooling over pics, reading posts, researching leather & bag styles, etc so I hope I made the right decision. I certainly got her for a good price, which helped in my decision-making process. Even though I'm not a true "regular" poster here, I do read a lot, esp. this thread. I can't wait to do my first reveal!

Dear Ifg,

I am thinking about a red birkin and was wondering about the rouge garrance. What leather is yours?

That's really sweet - I'm glad you liked it!
I love inspirational quotes.

Actually I did get my first Hermes scarf that evening, a Feux du Ciel...I realised that I could buy it, and pay for my exams without ransacking my savings. A Hermes bag will take a little longer though *sigh*

Congratulations!!

It sounds like you have done so much time planning for it that I doubt you will be disappointed! (Personally I find my superficial tastes change over time, whilst my style stays fairly similar, so you will have found something which is not a whim and you will love forever! )

I think that this thread is inspiring! Some of us have a few H accessories here and there, and some of us even have a bag. :)

Hiya,

I'm new on the "waiting thread." This is because I think I am ready to seriously consider dipping my toes into the orange! How did I get started on this path? Well, a friend of mine told me around Christmas..well, Hanukkah time last year that she wanted to find a birkin this year. It peaked my interest because she has such great taste and although I had heard of Hermes I hadn't really ever investigated further. Then came news that there is finally going to be a Neiman Marcus in our area, and in the same development there is plans for an Hermes store.

This really peaked my interests, and so I discovered the PF, and at the same time my style has kind of evolved into utilizing scarves (instead of being afraid of them!) and dressing more "put together" so Hermes is kind of a good fit for this new type of interest of mine.

I have decided to wait to start collecting Hermes until the boutique opens, although I have been really tempted to go online for a scarf or bracelet. At some point I would like to provide a good home for a 32cm kelly clemence (one of my DD's name includes Clemence) plus I think it looks like a beautiful leather. I think I would love it in blue jean. So in the meantime I have an account set aside to be my H account and then when I get inside those doors I will know better what is right for me!
