Love reading hermes thread. So many things to learn. Love the kind of support you guys give each other. I wish someday I could own one. At the moment, cant afford to have one. Not working at the moment and time is bit hard.

But this site make me happy. The first thing I would do in the morning is to go here. Eventhough I cant afford to have one, at least I get some joy from this.

My dream of owning several hermes friends.....
I always tell my friends one day, I will sit the bags around the table, and introduce them one by one

"Welcome to my house, this is LIndy, Evelyene, Birkin, Kelly" etc

It's a dream, just like when we were younger, you have barbie dolls sit around the table. Now as grown up, we have our Hermes' Friends:)

i used to cut my cindee's hair lol she's the spunky one. my barbies were more girly so i allowed them to keep their hair long. yep even then i had delusions of grandeur lol

hi all. i am tittering at the edge of plunging into a journey that is the quest for a birkin bag. but i am holding back. my taste has changed quite a bit since i first started wanting one. i first saw a birkin bag in 2000 - not knowing that it was an H - in lilac (cyclamen?) ostrich. my former boss slammed the pretty thing on the board room table in defiance as she signed us over to the company that bought us (long story). the image of that bag slouching in front of me never left my mind since. from wanting colours and exotics, to now, wanting a barenia/VN HAC more than anything. it does not help that i am going to be a student again. all backpacks and sling bags for the next few years.... but then i thought, perhaps if i order one now, the wait is going to be less painful since i will be busy with other things while i wait....? and it would give me time to save? i'm not sure. how do you guys normally go about it...? anyway, thanks for letting me talk about this.

have you ever covet something so much for so long only to find that they don't suit you...? i am not sure this pondering belongs here, but here goes anyway: have any of you experienced this with the birkin bag? that after all the waiting and saving (or not), you realized that the style is just not you...?

and if you keep spending your money on other things even though you could have bought a birkin (providing you can get your hands on one of course), does that mean you don't want it enough? i keep thinking that birkin is so classic, that it will there 10 years from now... some other things on the other hand.. etc etc...

It never cross my mind the birkin was for me, as I can't afford it when Jadeite asked me to put on a waitlist for one five years ago. Through the years, we spoke about it, briefly discussed, and that's about it. There was no lust, no want about the birkin.

And almost five years later, a birkin was presented in front of u (thanks to jadeite for the chance). My heart miss a beat . I guess when you lay your hand on the bag, and knowing you have the chance to own it, you will know where your heart leads you too.

It leads me down the slippery slope and TPF!

sigh. i want an all barenia or VN bag... which makes the wait *a lot* longer. and i have asked for an HAC instead of a birkin. i actually love the HAC, suits my style more. somehow, it looks more.... sporty...? that's not the right word. but not as "tai tai" if you know what i mean. will that make it a shorter wait? it has been suggested that my only hope might be to go vintage. which i have no problem with at all!

barenia was not offered. Getting a 2nd hand one seems higher chance. I would imagine the HAC will also be the kinda bag for me. sporty, casual, funky:) at least in sg, I don't see any birkin or HAC on the shelves. kelly now and then only. Just one Prune box 25cm kelly a few weeks ago in the display:)

I am sure our members can advise which countries hv HAC readily on the shelves and if it is easier to obtain and shorter waitlist:) I wld love to know too

hunting for a second hand one is not easier by the look of it in any case, in the next few years, my life style would probably not lend itself to carrying a bag that can't free both of my hands, so i am more than happy to wait a few years!

barenia was not offered in HAC you mean? can one be ordered?
