I was very glad that I could try on the different sizes, it was very helpful. I don't know how I would react, but I can totally understand your point as well.

Onederland: yes, to try a Birkin on for the first time is really a fantastic moment
When I was in the H. store I was feeling like a kid in a candy store.

I think I need to start with a 28 Kelly or 35 Birkin.
Now I really have to save money. I have some bags that I don't use anymore and they're all new or in excellent condition, so I'm thinking of selling them to save money for the Birkin/Kelly mission

I hope I didnīt offend you! That was not my intention, and it was good that you got to try out different bags....and it would have been ok had they been bags for sale and not reserved IMO,

No worries, you didn't offend me Kat, like I said I can totally understand your reaction
I mean, I wouldn't be happy either if I ordered a bag and maybe another customer tried it on and for example make a scratch on it or something like that, you know what I mean? So I can totally understand you.

Hermes.com has some nice little things.

I'd totally wear the men's t-shirts.
And those yacht towels under the surprise
section look like they'd be comfy bath towels. :)

hi felle1984 i can totally relate to you. i have only started working in january of this year (stayed at home to take care of my dd for 8 years). i have quite a number of bags- chanel, bal, lv, gucci- but i have yet to buy my own H bag- birkin or kelly still not sure. i often pass by a lot of luxury goods shops and find myself tempted to buy either a bag or accessory. but i've made myself a promise to save for a birkin/kelly that i will buy in cash. so hard to do (yesterday i almost caved and bought an mj bruna that was on sale at a ridiculously low price) but being on this forum helps me keep my eye on the real prize. hopefully i will be able to save enough for my own H (not bought by DH) in a few years' time. good luck!
for now, i live vicariously through people here who have wonderful collections. love looking at your pics, everyone!

I can understand why lots of people feel this way, but I truly wouldn't care if another customer tried on my reserved bags before I came in to pick them up. I'm pretty certain I'm going to be in a minority about that, lol.

The staff in my store is very careful with the bags, and I really feel that it's extremely unlikely that a bag would get scratched around them. Heck, the SM has used my RG 35 birkin (full of my stuff and with my permission) to give a client an idea of size and weight. I think she carried it around for almost half an hour before surrendering it. The client was happy, the SM was happy, and I absolutely didn't care.

Totally see your point Kat and , but agree with GGA. I would also expect your SA would exercise discretion. I have been on the giving and receiving end of that type of thing quite a bit.

I know what you mean gga and 880, and I would love to be able to try on all different kinds of sizes but I would not want an SA to unwrapp a bag that had been ordered for someone just for me to try it on

I personally think that every single store in Hermes should have a sample bag, in every single design they make, so that would mean
1. Birkin - all sizes from 15cm/25cm up to 50cm etc
2. Kelly - 28cm etc
3. Evelyne - all sizes

as well as other models

Yes the models will end up looking beaten up, but it really would be useful for size comparisions etc.
The price the customers will pay for the bag, it would be nice of Hermes to provide samples like that. I think FSH does this, but sometimes they do not have the sample bag available.
That way, no sa should be opening up a birkin that another customer has ordered unless it was due for placing on the shelf.

I wish after every season they would take those sample bags and put them in the sample sales. :)
