just a little update!
i'm in NYC right now, and i just came back from Barcelona, Spain. i'm staying here for 5 days before i head back to CA, and let me tell you that temptation is ALL AROUND ME. i've saved up about 800 since i last posted, but there's so much around me! i can't help but walk into stoorrrees! on the plus side, idk if this will actually go through, but my mom and aunt made friends with this really sweet jeweler/watch retailer in spain, (super legit too. i was worried at first until i visited him in the shop. the boutique is SOOO nice and modern.) anyways, they ended up buying a chopard happy diamonds watch, and an extra 15K worth of pearls and diamonds. THEN, they made super friends with him and asked him about a birkin. He said that they probably wouldn't cater to us since we're foreigners, but if we gave him the order he would go in person and put the order in himself, and when it arrived, he'd call us and we'd fly back to spain to pick it up from the store. i dont know if that's allowed, but he offered, and he's super legit as well, so here's to hoping he actually did it and the order went through, cause he's pretty tight knit with the luxury retailers in Barcelona, and one of his friends used to be the manager for 4-5 years of the Hermes there, and he called to check on birkins but i guess she's now the regional manager of Loewe, but hey, i'm sure connections help! we also promised to buy a chanel J12 from him, if he got the birkin, so that when we came back to pick up the birkin from H, we'd stop by his shop to pick up a J12 as well. It was just a little more incentive for him to place the order. annnnywways that's my story, and here's to hoping he actually places the order. (a 40 in graphite togo with phw.) keep your fingers crosseddd for me! until then i'll try in the states to maneuver my way around the system. hahaha |

What did you see in the Barcelona Hermes? My brother leaves for Barcelona tomorrow and there is no Hermes in Arizona. Any cashmere shawls? |

Thanks chanel and pug*shoes
In March I left three scarves to be pleated, so they are not exactly new purchases. Now that I have played with the plisses, I'm sure I'll get so much more use of them and I'm thinking of sending more scarves for the same treatment. calicocat, the date went extremely well, we had sushi & some bubbly and talked and talked. He's such a gentleman...

Okie, my confession here... I'm saving and also waiting to get my hands on the birkin!
As i've only been working for a short time (3 years maybe?), there're several priorities on hand at the moment, such as paying off the car, and saving for the deposit of my dream home, and doing more travelling to get the cultural experience etc.. As much as i love to get a birkin, I feel that it's prob prudent for me to hold off until a few years, after i get a pay jump, and have at least paid off the car and deposit for that home =) In the meantime, I'd still treat myself to H accessories whenever i go travelling or reserve that for a special occasion. If a really good deal comes up on ebay at the moment, I wldnt mind buying it as a treat, if i do have leftovers from my min monthly savings target. And of cos, visiting the forum does help me learn alot more abt Hermes. It's product appreciation that matters, no? =P |

Felle1984 - you're definitely being smart and practical! I can only wish I could adopt that mentality but let's be frank...I'm totally impulsive, live in the moment and until I get my hands on every H bag I want I'll easily have a debt as high as MJ's 400 million.
I'm going to attempt to stay off the rest of tPF and only limit myself to this thread! Must stay AWAY from the enablers!!! ![]() zrusky7 - I'm so sorry that RG birkin was sold!! I was really hoping you'd get it in time!!! So frustrating isn't it? I hope you find yours soon!!!

luxurybaby and gotbighair, thanks for your kind words!
I do really enjoy everyone's photos and reveals.. They're splendid! I guess they only spurrs me to work harder and earn more $$$ so that i've got extras to spend on the big [B] bag right? Hee... Well, as much as I'd like to hold it off, the temptation is overwhelming at times. LOL, whenever I see a reveal, I'd be tempted to get one for myself as well, and charge it on the card. Will worry about paying it off later! =P gotbighair, I can't wait to see some of your collections soon. Hee.. |

Hi everyone, how are you today?
Just want to share something with you guys. Two days ago I was in Belgium for a Chanel sale. There was a H. store as well. I walked in and saw a gorgeous mousseline. I didn't buy it, because I spended to much money that day. A SA came to me and asked if she could help. I told her that I was saving money for my first Birkin or Kelly, but that I wasn't sure about the leather, color and size yet. She said no problem and then she came back with 4 orange boxes, so exciting ![]() It was a Kelly 35, a Kelly 28 in (I believe crinoline, not sure) a black box Birkin 30 and a 35 Birkin in Rouge Garrance with ghw. This was the first time that I've tried a Birkin or a Kelly, it was a great moment! Well, the SA and me really liked the Kelly 28 on me. The Birkin 30 was nice, but I think the 35 looks better on me. The Kelly 35 was not working for me IMO. I didn't place a order yet, because I was not sure yet. But I was loving the RG Birkin as well so I asked if it was possible to give me a call if the customer who ordered it, don't want it. Sure, no problem said the SA ![]() But she also said that it was a small chance that the customer don't want it, because she was a regular customer. After my visit to the H. store I met a very friendly women with a Birkin 35 etoupe in Taurillion with phw at another store. I asked her if I could try her Birkin and she said, sure no problem. I was not a etoupe lover before but when I tried this Birkin, I must admit that I love the etoupe color. And the prune, graphite and the vermillion were also very nice colors. I must say, it was a very nice experience to try this H. bags for the first time

I´m glad you got to try out different bags! That is a good way before making up ones mind which one to get ![]() I do have to add though that if I were the said customer having ordered that RG Birkin I´d be furious if I realized the SA had taken it out to let other people try it! Kat |

but Chanel! I'm so glad you got to tryon birkins! I know what the feeling is like to hold on to one. It's AMAZZZING. Like, i always wanted a birkin, but it wasnt until i held it in my hands that i really knew that it was meant to be, and from that point forward i was all over saving for it. |
