Alright everyone! you guys need to help keep me on track!!!

I'd love to pop in and join this thread officially.

I've wanted a birkin for a couple of years now, but i always get sidetracked and buy things along the way. If i had saved since september, i would've had enough money by now. but nooooo, i had to get stephen sprouse stuff cause it was "limited" or chanel stuff.

I have about 4K saved up right now, and i figure if i work full time all summer and don't spend, i'll have the 10K needed by November.

i don't pay for bills or food or anything, so that's a plus. but i just can't keep on getting sidetracked! or falling into that thinking of "oh they'll always make the birkin, but they won't always make _________"

so aggrivating!

So while I am waiting I spot a little number that I'd seen before and not been all that crazy about. But WHAM!! this time it called out to me. Was able to get her at a good price so while my Evelyne savings has a big dent in it, I'm still pretty happy. So without further ado, I present my new to me Sac Good News.
I'm superlate to the party, but CONGRATULATIONS!!! Love it! Dents in savings are easy to mend, when there's something spectacular in your hands

(finally made it back to my favourite thread! :-) work has been so busy - our team of 13 people is currently down to 5!! Most on leave, 2 on secondment, 1 working from one and 1 is still sick!)

Thanks valencia!! I love your Sac Good News! Such a versatile bag! Perfect colour!! :-D

Well, still no news about my Evelyne. I might drop by H sometime to enquire about it.

My dream Bolide is coming soon! It is somewhere in customs now! It's not an SO or PO - simply a click-and-buy online. lol. I haven't seen a 31cm bolide in my dream combo in my local store - so this is the only way I can have one this soon at this stage.

After this bolide I promise to give my credit card a rest...note to self - ...need...saving....in..H...fund!!

Well.........in the mean time I might start planning the SO combo of my dream Kelly

yay! congrats! not long to go now! lol I totally know what you mean by getting sidetracked. e.g. with H carfs, belt, small leather goods, charms. if I add up my expenditures on these goods then i will have half a birkin by now. lol

Took me 4 years to save for the 1st birkin. I still only have 1 birkin by the way. And because it took so long to save, all the more it was treasured!

calicocat - Ooops, my bad in a big way!! Will sen it as soon as I subit this message.

Hey all!! Thanks for the congrats on my new purchase. She is getting a lot of use these days.

**Chanel** and Allan - Holy smokes!! You guys were born in 1981 and 1982?!?!? I won't even tell you what I was doing during those years as you all are too young to read such things.

Jadeite - You are an inspiration, my dear!! And remember you don't "only have 1 Birkin", you have the one Birkin that was truly meant for you.

the_kelly_1day - Tell those folksin customs that you have a tPF reveal to do and they need to get a skippy on processing your Bolide.

Onederland - Welcome!! I wish I had tips on how to not get sidetracked, but I unfortunately if yougive me enough time I can justify buying almost anything.

I also saved up for my Birkin! I started when I joined tPF and got the bag in April this year. Now my "H account" (I don't want to use money from my other savings) is back to zero so I will have to start to save all over again if I shall get a second bag. At first I was thinking that I should start to save up for one as fast as I possibly could but now I think that it is better (for me) to wait for a while and actually enjoy my Birkin before thinking of the next bag (which might be a Kelly if I manage to decide what colour and size I like the most).

I want to tell you how I got my one and only birkin...
When Hermes opened their store in Norway (fall 2008),me and DH decided
to drive (7 hours) and visit the new store.
Ther weather was really bad(snow-storm),and we had a bad car accident,
I got severe injured, and was taken to the nearest hospital.
They had to do an operation, internal bleeding, and damage to inner organs.
It took a long time to fully recover, and I did not get to visit the H store.
Six months later,we went to Oslo(this time it was spring),and because
I had been at home recovering from the accident,I had not spent any money
shopping...So you can say that I had been saving up,in a way,lol.
And when I finally came in the Hermes store, they got the birkin I dreamed of:
Black togo with ghw,35!
So of course I felt I had to get it,I finally had the money, and I could not believe
they had my dream-bag there, just waiting for me.
And I sort of told myself that I really deserved it,after this accident...
So that is how I got my first(and probably last?) birkin.
And I will have to add I am now 100% recovered

OMG, take care of yourself! But good to hear that you've recovered and got the Birkin as a present!

Tillykke!

Onederland: Wow, you did good, not long to go now

Jadeite, kashmira and pepsimax: I love your stories how you got your first Birkin. And pepsimax, I'm so glad that you're 100% recovered.

Normally tomorrow I should go to Amsterdam with a friend, but she called me yesterday that she's sick so now I'm going to Antwerpen in Belgium the 1st of Juli. There's a H. store as well, can't wait to visit it
