Sarah,
Good thread! I just read your thread about how you had to give up the Birkin you wanted. I'm certain you will get the bag of your dreams in the future. I did like how Florasun equated owning a H bag as icing on the cake. Some of us still have all of our cake ingredients in the pantry, and it's not even ready to be baked! My name is Carol and I'm a returning (i.e. poor) college student/ work study. The only Hermes items I own are a small bottle of Amazone that I purchaed from a discount perfume website - thanks to the winter RAOK a bottle of Kelly Caleche (thanks, Guccigal) and a sachet (thanks, ATG) - it will take me a zillion years to save for my dream raisin rigide Bolide. (Ostrich, would be the ultimate, but there are many leathers I like.) If these price increases are yearly events - I don't know when I'll be able to afford my Bolide. ![]() It does give me great joy to see the many reveal threads, I love seeing all the new bags, jewelry, scarves, etc. and hearing everyone's stories. :) For all of us ladies (and gents) in waiting: I'm sure our day to have our dream H bag(s) will come.

My name is Robyn and I am also lusting after a Birkin, a 35 in potiron togo or clemence. My oldest daughter has autism, which requires thousands of dollars every month for therapies that the school district doesn't cover. I had gone back to work to help offset the cost, but it didn't work out in the end. So, I'll have to wait. It might never happen, and I will have to be ok with that. My daughter comes first, and I am lucky that her needs are something that can be treated and that she is making progress. Maybe someday, but for now I am trying to be content with my sweet little Herbags, which I really love. ![]() And I'd love a glass of red wine, please.

I just wanted to say that, I know one way to help make wishes come true is to create a "collage" or "treasure map" of what you want, and how you can bring it into reality. In a way this forum is that for me. A place where I can visit and learn and look at pictures. I have taken the step to create a collage before in my life and it has been fruitful. Anyone else have experience with this ? (Hmmm . . . I'm thinkin' I might just do that)

Hello ladies ~
Great thread Sarah! Love it! Love it! Ok...my name is Jen and I'm slowly (very slowly) saving for my Hermes. Unfortunately I was recently in an accident, and have to take some time off from my job. But I'm still hoping to have my first orange box by the end of this year. Would LOVE to get a 35CM black box birkin or chocolate togo birkin 32 with GW.....

My name is Kitty and I am embarrassed that I want a Birkin 35 or 40. It is an unreasonable amount of money for a purse that does the same thing as a plastic bag. I am in a unique situation that I can afford any purse I could imagine and could fly anywhere to get it but have this moral dillema of the guilt of spending that kind of money on a purse. I have a Birkin and a Kelly on order and fear the day they call me to tell me they are in. Because then I will be forced to face my materialism. And then I see there is an Orange Birkin 35 in San Francisco and my husband asks me if we should fly up tonight and pick it up in the morning...when I called the boutique they where closed...so now I will just obsess about it all night and call in the morning. All this for a purse! How embarrassing is that. If my mother and sister knew how much money I am willing to spend on this stuff...and i have a husband who enables me (he has a pilot on call tomorrow just in case).

I love this thread, we will be able to encourage each other to save and not lose hope for our quest. (sounds a bit like Lord of the Rings).

Agent Kitty, don't feel guilty if you can afford it. Why not? Your mother and sister need never know how much they are.
