HI,
I wonder if i can join your group, i only found this forum by accident when i was researching an LV bag that i bought last month, and by chance i stumbled upon the H forum, im lucky that im kind of in a financial position to get my H bag but the thing that stops me is spending so much on 1 thing and the fact that its a bag, my DH is having a career break just now so i think it would be silly of me to get it just now while he's not earning anything but the yearning for a Birkin wont go away so im hoping you'll let me join you all, i think it also helps that although i have a H store in my town its a very small concession with no Birkins or Kellys. ^^ I think the only requirements are tpf membership and a love but lack of Hermes!
We are a hopeful bunch, so maybe all this positive Hermes energy will translate into H for at least some of us ![]() Is anyone else being driven nuts by all these Evelynes being purchased? I never thought much about them, but now I'm convinced I *need* one! |

My name is Matt, I am a Louis Vuitton fan mostly. Ever since I saw my first Birkin a year or two back, I have thought about it everyday and always will! Of course I want the best one ever, but I will gladly settle with a 40cm grained leather in black or brown with palladium hardware. (I don't know much Hermes lingo, so forgive me on the grained leather, I think its called togo? who knows?) I want the same thing in Black Matte Croc (maybe one day)
As for now, I sit and wait. My Hermes store here in Michigan blows, they are rude, snotty and just don't care. They tell me I cannot get one unless I spend big $ there. Basically I feel as if I will never get one. I heard the one I want is like $8k-$9k. I have no problem saving the $ for my dream bag. I just want to get as much as LV at the same time. |

mimi, and to think the mothership - will be your Alaska!! :)
P-B, hermes.com is a legitimate site, that should put your DH's mind at ease. welcome, mrs. h. :) doubtful guest, The Evelyne is a great bag. Some even like to start with this bag, before moving on to the Kelly, Birkin, or Bolide, etc. Matt, there's a great leather section on the ref page. I hope you get the bag you want. And I hate snobby SA stories - there is no reason to treat customers with rudeness. |

I am smitten with the Evelyne, myself. Hermes sure does make it hard for you to prioritize your wish list!
I wonder if Evelyne will ever be made with a zipper? |

As for the SA... what can I do... nothing? I just sometimes feel that I will NEVER get the bag I want due to the fact that Birkins are IN DEMAND it seems and I don't know where to even begin as to how to get it. I wish I could just walk in, tell them what I want, wait 6 months or w/e and VOILA! haha |

Oooh, let trade seems to carry nice bags. And they seem legit. I will have to convince DH that they're authorized resellers (a little white lie never hurt anybody) and maybe he'll let me buy. I will still have to save and wait one - two years. But, I may be able to pull it off ...

^ I wonder how many people have lied about the price of H items to family and/or friends? I know I could get away it, because most of the people in my life, don't know the brand or how much their items cost. I don't think I could tell my family, "Yes. I bought this...and it cost this much...." - That's why I'm glad this forum exists. :)

^^ Kelly_Birkin, I'm sure many people do that. My mom used to do that with my dad (even over much cheaper purchases). I would never tell my family b/c they would look at me with that "can't you sponsor a starving child in Rwanda for serveral years?" look. But DH is another story ... joint account.
You are right, I am happy this forum exists. And you guys are really nice in the H subforum. In the meantime, I think I found a concession purchase in that I can get relatively soon ... a Herbag! I know it's so old and not in production and definitely not a Birkin or a Kelly, but I think it will be a good starter bag for me. :) I am going to keep watching let-trade for a colour I like. |

^^I love the herbags! Look up razorbackbelle0's thread on her first major H purchase of a herbag...
I love the Evelyne because it has all the goodness of Hermes, the functionality that I crave and the fact that it's less formal. I really need to be honest with myself that with where I live and how much I get out, a formal bag just wouldn't be used very much. |

^^ Thanks. Just read it, so cute. Razorbackbelle0 has the exact colour I want! It's so pretty. And you are so right about picking something that will suit your lifestyle. I like tote styled bags for work, so if I got this I think it would be perfect for that (among other things). Thanks.

Hi.. I am miss piggy from LV sub forum. I know I will never be able to afford a birkin or a kelly, but I can drool and admire all the eye candies here from afar.

Hi misspiggy, I am "from" then LV subforum too. I think if you really want it, you just have to sacrifice. So instead of getting 8 LVs over two years, save your money for two years and get one Hermes. I know that sounds excruciating, but I think it's well worth it if you can't do such an expensive outlay right away. That's what I'm going to do, put myself on a bag ban for a year or two then use the saved money to buy.
