Thanks everyone! Vacation is actually over - I got home Sat. late. Now I'm jet-lagged and tired from trying to catch up on everything -- the downside of vacations.

Mindi, Valencia, you're right. LOL, I was trying not to write a novel in my post, but mangled it trying to edit it down. The SA did want to examine the new scarf personally, and also had the one in the store marked as damaged so it wouldn't get sold. After she explained, it made more sense to have her look at it first - as then I wouldn't have to return it if there was an issue. I was just thinking that if they sent it directly to me I would get it faster (not thinking that I wasn't going to be home for a while anyway - duh.)

The SA who helped me pick out DH's wallet had to do a search to find the color I wanted, and had it sent from the other store to my house. She also helped me again when I managed to squeeze in one last shopping trip on Saturday before I flew home.

I dragged DH with me on that trip; he needs to buy a b'day present for me, and what better way to make sure he gets something I'll like? The other cashmere scarf I wanted had been sold. The SA offered to do a search for it, but thinking that DH would probably balk at the price, I declined and looked at mousselines instead. There was a beautiful soiree de gala in orange, and she did a search for it in another color, but alas there were no others. I ended up picking out a mosaiqe au 24 in lilac/gris cw - but won't actually get it until my b'day. I'm gnashing my teeth in frustration since I'm the instant gratification type. Two scarves purchased but nothing to wear yet!

I would have to rate Boston as one of the better stores that I have been in. All the SAs I worked with were friendly and helpful -- and looked like supermodels. I wondered why am I bothering? No matter which scarf I buy I'll never carry it off like they do!

You should wear and enjoy it more often!

yes, it's really comfy and surprisingly warm if knotted the right way. I used mine again today and when I removed it from my neck, I still felt the heat trapped in the scarf. amazing.

and don't you just love the sound of silk rustling against itself? Haha. castorny and I have been talking about how we like that.

thanks, C. It's nice to hear comments from ladies. Clearly a departure from praises I get from elderly men at gay dating websites, telling me kinky things they want to do to me and asking if I want a sugar daddy. (For the record, I don't want that.)

I was thinking of not showing my face but I thought, since I speak my mind most of the time at this forum (and sometimes get into trouble), I do not want to someday be accused of being cocky just because I hide under the anonimity of an avatar. Besides, no one can benefit by stalking me.

But don't get me wrong; I understand and respect people who choose not to show their faces online. Most people value their privacy. To each his own.

I loooooove the feel of H's silk twill--it's like a little hug! When I got my first scarf I wore it around the house because it felt so nice. DH thought I was weird.

Florasun, sounds like you had a great time in Boston! I only live a couple hours away, and I'm planning to meet a friend there next month, so now I'm thinking a visit to H might be in order... By the way, you're from the Northwest, right? I grew up in Seattle.

allan, you do look great with your scarf and I'm glad you decided to reveal your face. Now I'm hoping even more you make it to our side of the ocean sometime.

Florasun, I really wanna see your new scarves! I bet you'll look and feel fab wearing them. One of the great things about H is how much one accessory can change the entire look of your attire, from plain to fabulous in 60 seconds flat!

capulet, Allan, I thought the silk would be stiff against my neck for some reason. The cashmeres are really light and floaty, and I had this impression lodged into my memory that the silk twills were "crispy" - and they ARE slightly stiffer than the cashmeres - but around my neck they are somehow cool and warm at the same time. Like a very reassuring hug, as capulet says. But this is bad, because now I want more!

And Allan, did I mention that you were a hottie? Seriously.

That's great to hear Kelly_Birkin! So how was graduation day? Did you wear one of your scarves that day or they arrived after graduation day?

No cup holders for car made in 2003? That is really odd. I had an old 1997 Honda Civic and it had few cup holders. Hhhhmmm...

You do speak your mind, but as far as I have seen you haven't been hostile or said critical or demeaning things about other forum members - so you have nothing to worry about IMHO.
I try to stay out of threads that get controversial; sometimes I would really like to hop in and say what I think, but can't figure out how to tell somebody they're an idiot nicely.

Congrats on the new job and new car!
2003 with no cup holders? seriously??? LOL!

It's easy in the purse forum to look at all the nice things some other members have, and start feeling bad because you can't go out and buy an instant hermes or balenciaga or louis vuitton collection, or what have you. But the onslaught of bad news about the economy and hearing about all the people that are losing their homes makes me truly grateful for all that I do have - a healthy body, a job, a home, a car that runs, food, a super-sweet DH, and a bunch of crazy people on the Purse Forum that never fail to make me smile.

Congradulations on starting your new job Kelly_Birkin! And OMG although the cup holders in cards was probably a recent edition, and when it came no one made a fuss... we all just used it like it's always been there.

ITA Florasun! Sometimes I do want to say something but it might be misconstrued as being sarcastic or just being hostile.

yes, silk twills feel kinda crispy and yet soft. it's hard to explain. it sounds a lot like paper sometimes, when it rubs against itself. and yes, it's cool and warm at the same time.
