XX, Calicocat, thanks, I figured that was what I'd end up doing, plus DH just woke up and announced that he just couldn't do a July 4th without burgers. I told him he is in agreement with my purse peeps! For once.

Happy Fourth to the Americans among us, and Happy Saturday to everyone else! No roofing today, of course, and we are SOOOO enjoying the quiet. Funny/sad how you take things for granted--like relative silence--until they are taken away, even temporarily. Sending many reassuring hugs to those dogs like Brooke who are frightened by fireworks. Heck, sending hugs to those people who are frightened by fireworks! Have a wonderful day, everybody, and don't eat the warm potato salad.

Any thoughts?
Well, what time should I be there??? LOL!

I'm with DH - do you know what's in hot dogs???? You couldn't pay me enough to eat one. HAMBURGERS!

Now, now, IL, it IS possible to buy hot dogs with edible ingredients. . . I buy kosher hot dogs (beef) and feel pretty secure that they won't kill me. . . . And how do we know what's mixed in with that ground beef patty, anyhow? How's your head today?

So...I have a question.

Yesterday I received a bill from DHL for customs fees for around $52. I am so confused! Singapore. I know I am losing it, but do any of YOU remember me ordering/buying anything??? And does this mean it's stuck in customs or I've already received it? Seriously I don't remember!!! Value said 1.0 to 1.3 K.

Head's better thanks.

And I rarely eat burgers for that reason, but now and then I will if there's nothing else.

My theory is if they weren't trying to hide something, they wouldn't feel the need to grind it all up.

IL, at this point anyone who wants to eat hot dogs is invited because I will have hot dog overload! Yeah, I know what's in them, but darned if I don't like them anyway! I do try to find the all beef ones with as few ingredients as possible.

IL, usually means you haven't received it, usually they want you to pay customs fee prior to receiving the item. Have you charged/sent/won anything lately? Or could be you ordered/bought/won something, and the seller had it sent from a Singapore drop-ship location?

Best to call DHL to find out, and have them fax you the original airway bill.. And you can always dispute it (i.e. if it's a used item, or if you didn't buy it)

Glad to hear you're feeling better!

I guess I will call them Monday. So strange - I haven't ordered anything that I can remember and the date reference is May on the statement.

May!

Maybe it was the bubblegum Balenciaga??? I received that in May and it did come from Singapore. It was definitely used - does that mean I shouldn't have to pay customs? I've never had any dealings with customs before. And if it IS the balenciaga, why am I just now getting a bill?

Think it does take awhile to get the bills... I'm afraid you might have to! Good thing it's not that much though!

IL, ding ding ding ding! Did you pay that amount ($1-1.3K) to get it?

I spoke too soon, I remember an instance some time ago where I was billed 'handling/customs fee' by UPS a few months after receiving the item.. It happens on occasional basis, I guess Perhaps they received the charge from Singapore customs a bit late?

You might want to check the customs regulations - what I understand that if in the States, used items to a certain value (as declared in airway bill) wouldn't be charged customs.. However depends on countries of origin, declared value, material, manufacturing country (ie. France for Balenciaga) it might be a different story..

But when you call DHL, they will explain the charge for you, and hopefully why the bill came months after!

Hope it's resolved soon..
