IL, I suspect the real problem was that the sub hadn't let ANYONE know. The contractor didn't know they weren't coming, either, until he'd confirmed with me that no one was at my house and then tracked down the sub. So I'm guessing that the contractor was peeved that he hadn't been in on the decision so he could have let me know, and secondarily, that the sub hadn't thought to let me know himself. EH, I totally agree--the word "finesse" expresses it perfectly. Our contractor is very earnest, and I suspect that he thinks he is extremely "good with people," but in fact he is quite transparent. I forgive this because for me his integrity trumps all, but for people who might need to be "handled" I can imagine he's not a great fit.

ITA! I think the contractor is not doing anyone a service by overstating how upset you are about something that has happened with a Sub. You GC is probably afraid of what may happen if he doesn't deal with something so he's going too far the other way.

Exactly, lil_f. The contractor probably doesn't realize what the fall-out can be because he woudn't behave that way himself, but he needs to know that others will!
The motto is not original to me, unfortunately. I first heard it from a prof in college, and I suspect he got it from someone else. But it is a good one!

So...

the Twilight Zone marathon is all the "new" ones. Kinda disappointing.

And I guess I missed the REALLY good "new" one where they build each minute the minute before.

I hope everyone is having a great summer.

We've had over 21 days with at least some
form of rain in it. :(

I'm still at the daycare, and even though
the pay isn't all there, I still love working
with the kids. :)

Hey K-B!

I feel your rain pain.

Glad to hear you enjoy the kids and your job even though it is underpaid.

Thank you! Now I just have to decide on the crest. . . a Chihuahua rampant?
