Go for the booze, when roofing, never too early. I hated the roofing experience. No escape from the noise and it is for some reason (to me) creepy.

Hey loves! Are you still going for a CDC? Or switching to enamels?

Urgh, condo issues. Thank goodness we personally haven't had any major issues (other than the expected dog complaints from other residents) but Pugsy, Lil fashionista, I feel your pain! Pugsy, does yours have the 15% cap on leasing? Does yours require you to install a water shutoff system in case of leaks? Mine is, and I'm not sure whether to get PO'd about it (it costs $2k).

Mindi, glad to hear the roofing work is proceeding as planned after yesterday's no show. Did the roofer give you attitude today?

Just had some protein-style soft tacos (no tortillas) for lunch - almost no chewing involved *sigh*

MindiB - oh my.. Roofing prob still? I hope you & Ms Olive are doing alright.

EH - would you mind sharing some authentic Mex recipes? How's Brooke doing?

IL - glad to hear you're feeling a bit better.. I LOVE Church's Chicken! Totally strange to hear 'no chicken' in a chicken place though.

Just to clarify, no roofing problems, exactly, just putting on a new roof, with the accompanying craziness. It turned out that our cheap-*ss builder (I think our house was built on spec; we are the 2nd owners) never put down any sort of ice/water barrier under the shingles, which in our neck of Alaska is really sort of a necessity. We've had problems on the flattest part of our roof with water getting in and had that area weather-proofed years ago; just finally decided to bite the bullet and have the whole thing done. One good point is that the roofing has a lifetime (of the house) warranty that is transferable, so I'm hoping that someday it might be a plus for a potential buyer. Did I mention BANGBANGBANGBANG--THUMP--BANGBANGBANG?

CC my authentic recipies is going to an authentic mexican market and buying the steak which they then marinate for me and pan frying it and putting it in freshly made tortillas heated in a pan with a bit of oil, adding a little cilantro and chopped onion. I squeeze a bit of lime on top. I bought some mexican fresh creme too that they scooped for me and added a tiny bit. ( beans on the side from a can). I found a fantastic market chain Vallarta that is really tops with freshness.

Hey, CC, no bad at all, just wanted to clarify. Miss O is definitely a little uneasy (as are we all!), but she's being really, really good. She clearly takes her cue from us. We are accepting the people and the noise, so she figures it's nothing to get upset about. She hasn't barked at the workers or the thumping at all. I'm very proud of her!

Does anyone here have experience with glass tiles for kitchen backsplash? Are they easy to maintain?
