I've tried a LOT of stuff - including plain old oxygen but now that I think of it, I didn't really get any major ones while I was on the prednisone. Hmmm...

But I sure wouldn't want to stay on prednisone - in fact I weened myself off of it WAY before I was supposed to. (I know I know - but I couldn't get in to see the doc and he was ok with it when I finally did and told him.) I knew how to ween because of DH being on it so long with both shoulder surgeries.

Ever notice what a wonderfully diverse and intelligent group of gals we are???

Yay, EH is huggin' dogs!
IL, I definitely wouldn't suggest a regular dose of steroids. I literally take 10 mg ONCE if my regular pain med doesn't work, and I might end up doing that once a month or once every two months. It's definitely a last resort, but it might help when you get a particularly persistent headache. As my neurologist says (in his beautifully musical Indian accent): "Steroids are like fire. A good servant, but a bad master."

And speaking of the 4th, I am officially sending calm, happy vibes to all those doggies who don't like fireworks. Hope they get through the day, and night, with a minimum of distress.

I knew someone who did that. She had horrible headaches (photosensitivity and would make her vomit) and she would take a dose of something steroid.

I love that quote, so true.

That's why we have drugs!! Don't know if we'll need them, but glad I have them just in case....

Brooke was slightly off last year but I turned the TV up and then she seemed OK. DH loves sitting on the beach to watch the distant fireworks shows (morphs into excited little boy).
