IL, i don't believe there's any difference in the tariff rate for used vs. new leather handbags ~ here's the harmonized tariff schedule if you want to check it yourself: http://hotdocs.usitc.gov/docs/tata/h...er/0910C42.pdf leather handbags valued at over $20 are in section 4202.21.90, which specifies 9%.

Hmmm - then the Bal doesn't fit or they didn't charge me enough. WEIRD! Thanks for the link!

OB, I don't think you need burgers. I always end up with leftover burgers and then have to make tacos.... But that's just Pugsy's 2 cents. Can I come over too??? (Ooops. just saw that others said make burgers. ok... ignore Pugsy)

XX, we're here all weekend

880, oh to stepbrother. Poor guy. LOL at your mother... That's what some of my family is like too....

Thanks for the java Pugs - I'm still watching Twilight Zone marathon. LOL! Not being very productive. Went to breakfast with SO, but didn't feel like eating. Then to the boat to see about the broken fuel gauge. It's just too freaking HOT!!! Heat index of 114 today. UGH!

i have to admit that i've never gone through the whole document - so maybe there is something somewhere that decreases the rate for used items? i really don't understand how they assess the charges ~ i got a 6000 bag in from italy, fully declared and insured, and was charged $450, but 9% would have been $540. shrug.

I'm making blueberry pancakes.

Iced coffee is about as appetizing to me as hot soda. ICK!

IL, I'd say to contact DHL first thing and get as much info as you can. A few years ago I got a customs bill from DHL about 6 months after I got the item. I paid them, but they still sent the bill to collections! I ended up having to sort things out through the Better Business Bureau. I did end up with a formal written apology from DHL, but it wasn't worth the hassle.

i'm so with you on that ~ blech.

i LOVE coffee ~ but hot only! and i can't stand anything coffee flavored. in fact, coffee ice cream is THE only flavor that i won't touch even if there's no other kind. double blech.

Happy Fourth of July everyone!!

Last night idiots started with the fireworks, Millie ran upstairs and hid in my walk in closet. It was so sad. Tonight is going to be no fun. Casey, he is bomb proof, he does not care.
