IG I'm so sorry about the snip. I had something similar so I know it's not pleasant. Clamping mine closed. I feel your pain.

I'm so sorry hope you are doing better

May I vent for a moment?

I teach an evening class at a large university. I received an email this morning from one of my students who is struggling. He says that he is not doing well because he doesn't understand English well. He is asking for my suggestions. Ummm.....brush up on your English?

Now, I'm all for diversity as it brings different approaches and perspectives to the classroom. But if you don't understand the language well enough to succeed in the classroom, I don't know what I can do....

Ugh.

Ugh!!

Oh CK21, that sucks. I am surprised that it is in email form. Call me cynical but could he be laying a paper trail in the eventuality that he does not get a good grade in your class (I apologize if I am totally out of line- feel free anyone to bag slap me lol). Many Universities require or strongly suggest TOEFL scores because of this and assume certain necessary proficiency.

880--I have learned to be a skeptic and consider the motivation. In this case, I don't think he is smart enough about the system to work the system.
He can't speak the language well enough to ask me a question, even after class in a one on one setting. Not sure how he got in, but suspect a few rules were relaxed to "encourage diversity". My part of the country is not very diverse, so any effort at a moderately diverse student body (or work force) is counter to what would more naturally occur.

Morning peeps

Margie, sorry it has been so stressful Hmm, not in the south, but we can overnight anything you need! (OB, if I ask for pecan pie and you and CG on my doorstep, is that possible? or am I outside the delivery area? )

ck, I'm no help in that situation. I would be frustrated as all get up.

IG, ouch, sorry

EB, love the boots, but that Kelly Gorgeous!

Japster! Helloooo! So jealous you got to hang out with GGA (and all the ladies!)

Morning 880

MissM! Thinking about you today! *heart* (sorry, ran out of smilies. stoopid smilie limit...)

Interesting. In that case, is it preferable to encourage him to meet with you or advise via email.

MargieB, lol.

PUgs - there is an 8 smiley limit?

Yes. It really used to frost my cookies when I was doing Pug Notes. It yells at you if you try putting in any more.

Thanks Pugsey.

CK that sucks but I do think 880 has a good point. I would not send anything via e-mail.

He may not be smart enough but that doesn't mean he doesn't know someone who is who is advising him. I'd be skeptical I'm sorry to say.

Just throwing it out there be careful.

Good morning everybody!!!

IL, hope you are feeling better this morning!

"Honestly, the way the doxies combine clowning around, a sense of neediness, and pure entitlement is just.......so.......endearing. OY!" CB you are so right!!!

ATG, yeah it would have been tough to take pics of O-dawg with him attacking you with love the whole time. SO great to see you!!!

CK, so sorry! Yeah I don't know what I would say except hey get some tutoring in English? Not much you can do if they can't meet the basic requirements! Oy...

Japster, Hi!!! SO happy you all had fun!

EB, sending hugs and good vibes your way!

Margie, so many hugs coming your way!!!

Sorry if I forgot anyone, so tired. Ollie had a 2am herk. I was worried and then DH said hmmm I gave him a tiny piece of my chicken burrito. Oh DH...

Also it is raining SO HARD here. Oh my gosh. I just took Ollie out and got soaked. Puppy is not happy. Poor little guy. I had the umbrella over him but the poor baby is so close to the ground he just got soaked. I dried him off and now he's laying in front of the fire.
