Of course I take offence at your post. Alot of us have been here a long time.
And if you insist that only the people of the calibre you so stubbornly stated are qualified to help authenticate these bags on tPF, then you can take your opinion elsewhere. We form a community for a Hermes loving community. We don't need titles and qualifications to prove our shared knowledge. And we never called ourselves "professionals" or "experts". We help with authentication on our own accord because we can't stand the scammers. And yes, owning many authentic Hermes, made over the years, definitely help. And a keeness for details. Owning a bag here or there, made in one or two years DO NOT COUNT.
Who says people from Auction Houses are experts at authentication too? They will also need expertise in their line of work to get verification. Definitely from trusted sources.
And staff from Hermes who are in the capacity of authentication ... the craftsmen themselves would be best. But do we have the luxury of these people participating in a forum like ours? And no craftsman would help authenticate bags unless the customer has a good relationship with the store. And from all my reading here, it seems the craftsmen in NYC are willing to do so. But not mine. They have strict rules to abide. My store does not participate in authentication. The store will however accept bags for refurbishment and determine authenticity as a by the way thing.
You hold utterly no respect for the members who have been here a long time with a post like yours. I would be inhuman if I do not feel thing that you have posted.
I do not need to be offered a position at Hermes, missy. That is terribly rude of you to even suggest it.
Conduct yourself politely if you are a H lover. Have some class.
