Question Black Birkin with lining in ?
I am thinking of ordering a black 30 cm Birkin in togo with palladium HW (unless the price will increase too much in this year in my shop). This will for sure be my one and only Birkin so I would like to have a bag that I can use for a really long time.

I like the idea of the lining in another colour to make the bag a little bit more special.

I had almost decided on a lining in framboise (if it would be available), but then realised that my "rainbow" would disappear in the bag since it is in red and pinkish colours (rouge vif, framboise and rose shocking and I hope to add on also violet, raisin and lilac).

What other colours do you think would look good with black? Would it be boring with a lining in gold or etoupe? It's really difficult to decide so I do appreciate all help that I can get!

I saw your "Rainbow" Kashmira, it is simply beautiful!!

I don't think your "Rainbow will disappear in a Framboise Lining, but if you prefer more distinction, how about Cyclamen or Potiron?
I think Potiron is close to Orange which compliments your Pinks/Purple tones, but is more neutral and hence does not 'steal' your "Rainbow's" thunder.

Hmmm.....Or do you like Greens? Vert Chartreuse/Vert Anis will totally 'pop' against a Black exterior and also act as a stunning contrast with the Pinks/Purple hues you have!

I placed an order for a black fjord birkin with cyclamen lining, piping and stitching.

I think violet would be gorgeous for a lining

Something Rouge

I've always liked black and red together.

What about a blue...

To compliment, but stand out against your rainbow.

Not to rain on the parade, but you do know that a bag with a contrast lining will be a special order and that it could take a year or more to receive the bag, which will no doubt come after at least one or two price increases. Do you have a relationship with a store that would let you place a special order?

If you do, that is great. I love Vert Anis as a contrast lining. I love it with black and I think it is a neutral pop color for purples/pinks/blues.

Kashmira, I say stick with your initial instinct of frambroise. It's what you really want, so don't sway from it just because you "think" your rainbow will lose it's wow factor. I can tell you that it won't. You will have the bag a lot longer than you will the accessories, so again, stick with what you really want. I have a closet full of mistakes, so if this is going to be your ONLY birkin, follow your gut instinct. STICK with FRAMBROISE! I think it would be a gorgeous combo. You will love it forever, and never think twice about it. It will take some time for this lovely bag to arrive and as Castorny correctly noted, you will go through at LEAST 2 price increases if not 3 before you receive it...so again, another reason to get what you really want. That is the beauty of the SO.

Yellow if you can find it can really pop your colors... Although, adding in a contrasting lining can delay your order..and perhaps just avoiding the extra contrasting lining and then just adding in a bag liner/insert would do the trick? You can get them in many different colors and should you change your rainbow's hues you can easily change insert colors...Just a thought...

Thank you all.

My SA has told me that I can choose a lining in a different colour but that it takes longer time to get the bag. I wonder if it is worth the longer waiting time if the bag might cost quite a bit more given the price increases?

I would ask your SA if you can pre-pay for your SO at the time of the order. They might allow it. It's certainly worth asking.

I LOVE the idea of framboise or cyclamen or violet!!!

But of course, you must use your first opportunity to make a SO You'll get a bag made especially for you, what could be more fun! I don't really care about the price increase, it'll be only a few hundred euros more, you'll save that by not eating out for a month or two.

And go with the framboise, if that makes your heart sing
